The who think that any man who has any type of sex with a so-called "gay" man are just plain wrong, and a repeating common-place but inaccurate cliches and prejudices.
The demonstrations of exactly how and why a so-called "gay" sexuality came to be defined against a so-called "straight" opposite have gone back thirty years of more. These silly concepts persist only because so many people are so deeply invested in defining themselves and others by them. They are political concepts treated as if they mean something "objective" and "real."
One of any number of examples of how this silliness has been demolished can be found in Steve Valocchi's "The Class-Inflected Nature of Gay Identity" in Social Problems, vol 46, No. 2, May 1999.
