I hear you, and this is exactly what I do when buying suits. But I don't wear many suits, and most pants I buy off the rack. Tailoring is a great thing to have, but I just don't have the extra bucks to spend on it most of the time.In buying dress slacks (particulary those as part of a suit ensemble), many stores will ask whether "you need more room in the crotch area" and then alter the pants for you. This helps resolve some of the problems we're talking about here in wearing dressier pants. The thinner fabrics are so much more revealing!
In my naivety in this southern rural area of the U.S., I went a number of years in adulthood before even realizing men's clothiers would provide this specific tailoring for "this kind of problem". But, they do.
One needn't be embarrassed to ask before purchasing.
Just wanted you to know that there is at least one person here who remembers the candy bar commercial to which you are alluding. :biggrin1:Besides. sometimes you feel like showing your nuts, sometimes you don't.

I remember the commercial from my boyhood: I just assumed that anyone much younger than I am (b. 1961) would never have heard the jingle, and so would not recognize the allusion. Thanks, man. Is it an age issue or a location issue that causes a disconnect on that allusion?![]()
"Its called get a Tailor..."
I wouldn't mind showing too much :biggrin1:
It's just I want MORE room in the crotch but I don't want that to mean MORE room (ie a looser fit) everywhere else.
For jeans its easy to get loose fit and things but with trousers I guess a tailor is the only way?
