I've only really recently understood the point of this site...
It's like a private Lads' sect where anything and everything can be discussed with no shame.

I understand that straight guys in particular have a keen interest in man meat here. Being gay, I REALLY don't want to see pussy or tits, it's like seeing a rock among other rocks- uninteresting.
So why do you straight men have such intense interest in seeing other men's packages?! You say it's 'curiosity' and that you want to 'compare' but surely you wouldn't bother unless the shape of a cock aroused some kind of fascination.

Do you straight guys want to chip in and help me understand this?
I bet a lot of you wouldn't dream of revealing to your friends that you're members here in fear of being labelled a weirdo.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's GREAT! The more open people are with each other in general the better and it's good to see this regardless of sex or sexual orientation.

So do tell, what specifically brings YOU here and why? Is it because it isn't the norm to say what you want to say in everyday conversation?

After being around here for a bit, I can tell you with some tested surety, I have no interest in browsing the penis gallery here. What you feel for pussy I feel for dick, men's bodies in general really.

This place has the remnants of an actual support group and there are still some worthwhile perspectives I can learn here that I can't broach in polite conversation.

This place really has just been co-opted by attention seekers and fetishists.

I've always been completely dumfounded by the name of this site, I thought that it was some sort of pun/ joke. You strike me as the average straight man- what I've always thought a straight man was prior to joining LPSG.

Men being naked together isn't inherently gay. Technically speaking, neither is sharing your size with other guys.

Edit: though the lengths some insecure guys will go to in order to prove they're straight can be hysterical.

Yep, I'm with you so far...

So why do you straight men have such intense interest in seeing other men's packages?! You say it's 'curiosity' and that you want to 'compare' but surely you wouldn't bother unless the shape of a cock aroused some kind of fascination.

Do you straight guys want to chip in and help me understand this?
Fascination is not desire...but realize that there is more to this site than merely interest in other guys' penises.

I actually came to this site looking for underwear recommendations, since the off-the-rack options at the local WalMart fit so poorly. I stayed because it's a great bunch of guys (and gals) who partake in interesting discussions across the various subforums.

I bet a lot of you wouldn't dream of revealing to your friends that you're members here in fear of being labelled a weirdo.
I've told my *mother* about being on this site. Why would I be afraid of what others think of me?

So do tell, what specifically brings YOU here and why? Is it because it isn't the norm to say what you want to say in everyday conversation?
Actually, I kinda' *do* say what I want in everyday conversation. Unlike many I'm not completely repressed and concerned what others will think of me. You'll make up your own mind with or without my help, anyway.

The realization that the opinions, and especially the imagined opinions of others do not really matter, is a sign of maturity for many.

Are we really on this topic again ??

In my opinion, it is as wrong for a Gay guy to define what straight is, as it is wrong for a Straight guy to define what gay is.

looking at other dudes is like looking in the hardware section at home depot. Its like when you go to the gym and checking out what the people around you are lifting. Penises dont arouse me. Call it what you want.

You would think gay people would be understanding of people's differences, you know, cause they have been ridiculed for being attracted for men in just about every society for centuries. Yet it seems like on this website, they can't get their head wrapped around the fact that there are men out there (a large majority actually) who have NO INTEREST in other men.

Why is that so hard to understand?

I never take anyone seriously when they try to claim how someone else feels, is attracted to, thinking etc. How the fuck do they know? All you really know at the end of the day is what goes on inside your head. To claim that everyone thinks like you is just pompous as hell.

Gay guys claiming that straight guys are really just closeted homosexuals is just as ignorant as the bible thumping bigots who say homosexuals are the devil.

Unreal...

Being Bisexual, but bent more toward guys, it is hard for me to step back objectively and understand straight men's infatuation with other male genitalia while simultaneously being turned off by it. Hmmm.....

Except that the straight guys make it very clear they are NOT at all gay and will only, for example, compare with other straight guys. If it's like hardware, then why does it matter if it's gay or straight hardware.
Why do so many of you think it's absolutely necessary to distance yourself from any sort of 'perceived to be gay' behaviour?
A man enjoying looking at cocks is somewhat gay. :dunno: Why not embrace that?

It's bizarre. They tend to 'euw' and get it away from them as far as possible when a friend get his cock out (drunk or whatever), but search for and compliment on thousands of cock pics here.

Well, for one, if its not clear, gay men will then take the time to insinuate that while being gay isn't a choice, being straight totally is. Which is kind of insulting, and backwards to how the whole sexuality thing in general worked.

For another, I'm of the opinion that quite a lot of "straight" men around here are actually gay predators in camouflage trying to lure gay men with the prospect of fucking, blowing, jerking a "straight" guy. There is no end to those threads on either side of that exchange.

As for comparing, yeah, no. Still not interested in other people's penises. Found this, and it probably answered more questions than looking at a bunch of grainy dong would. And not everything about this site is about relating to men and their units, I like to read up on the relationships other people have and how they made them work/fail. That and I'm sick enough to enjoy politics.

It has been my experience that some gay men can be absurdly hypocritical about sexuality and acceptance. I once read a forum where the list of reasons bi guys sucked were pretty much a rehash of every gay stereotype I'd heard over the years.

For the record: sexuality is not always a set thing, none of this is new, and the Romans had it down to an art.

I will say that given the volume of lurkers and the forum member base, there are very likely at least a few dozen of those. However, some guys are more comfortable talking about their junk to other males, others like the attention, some are curious, and others are working on figuring out who they are.

I hope this is not intended to be a generalization.
