It was an awesome weekend and most of it is stuck in my head and
will stay with me forever...

What I was trying to get at was that nothing is quite as Black and
White as some try to make it.

When we left for Woodstock, I don't think any of us thought we were
going for anything but a great music festival. Of course, it was a given
that we would be enjoying a little dope and some really good fellowship
along with the music. Little did we know just HOW much good fellowship
we would be enjoying....:biggrin:

At the time I knew, and had known for most of my lfe, that I was BI, but
none of my friends knew. It was just no reason to tell them. I had been
married and was a father, divorced at the time, and it was just assumed
that I was also straight and I never did anything to change it. There were
16 of of us who traveled together in various cars and vans...both males
and females, and I was one of 6 who went in a VW Van. I did know that
a couple of them were closeted gays and one a lesbian, but otherwise, all
were straight and I never knew them to ever have any other proclivities.

So, if those...straight as arrow...people could participate completely in
that type of sexual feast, then anyone could, under certain circumstances.
And it didn't make them Gay. And there was a lot more going on than just
kissing!

And this is why I said bi or bi-curious. Experimenting can be one thing, like If I kissed a guy, it would depend on if I liked this or not. If I liked it I would either be gay or bi,maybe even still bi-curious. But they are many individuals who run around calling themselves straight when infact they are not.

My conclusion was there are apparently enough men who consider themselves straight that are having sex with guys on the side, to make a national organization change its policy because of it.

I personally think its a massive double standard than men greet with a handshake and women greet with a hug or a peck.

I think it should be socially acceptable for men to show intimacy with other men without fear of being called homosexual.

While personally I don't think you need to have sex with a mate to show how much he means to you there nothing wrong with giving him a great big kiss although in saying this i do feel that since it acceptable to have sex with complete strangers it should be acceptable to have sex with a mate to show him how much he means to you.

Do you think a lot of them DO though underestimate it, or are just maybe turning a blind eye to it like the media in general does ? Come to think of it, perhaps that's why some wives do not like their husbands hanging around gay men or someone they know they are gay because maybe, on some unconcious level, they are thinking their spouse maybe could fool around with another man behind their backs without a second thought ?

I must admit I was horrified a couple of years ago at New Year, when in my local pub I got kisses from some of the straight guys. They shook hands and hugged each other, but kissed both me and my other half. I suppose it was their way of showing that they accepted us as friends and didn't care about our sexuality, but there were some people there who obviously did. One guy still makes a point of kissing us good night every time we see him in the pub. He says it's because he used to be really homophobic until he got to know us and it's his way of thanking us and showing to himself and everyone else that he's no longer got a problem with gay guys. It's getting to the point where I'm considering avoiding him though, as I don't really like being singled out like that. I'm not a great one for public displays of affection at the best of times. I hardly ever even shake hands unless it's a formal occasion.

I'm used to all the hugging and kissing in Europe from having travelled to a lot of sports tournaments over the years, and I don't mind it in that context, but it's never been a British thing as far as I know. Yes, you hug and kiss women, but only women or, occasionally, very close male relatives and even then it's rare, usually grandparents etc. In parts of Europe though, it's very common to hug and kiss just about everyone you meet, so you have to get used to it if you want to fit in.
