I know I'm just a random guy on a random website but I see a diverse community here and I wanted to share how I feel. I am 100% straight and have never even had an urge to change that but... I have had a few friends turn out gay and I actually became better friends with them. I admire the courage of anyone whether its bi, gay, gender bender, mono, and any other alternative lifestyles who proclaim their orientation. What are some other views on this..

Hey man. I only have a handful of gay friends -- a couple of dudes I hang with semi-regularly and a lesbian who works in a university-area coffee shop -- but they're all really great people. My mom's best friend is a lesbian and had been out practically the entire time that we had known her. In fact, my mom's short, has big calves, and short hair, and where I'm from, that's license to think she's gay too. (She's not.) So I'm cool with gay folks. Hell, half the time it's too hard to even tell anymore.

Truth is, I've known assholes of all shapes, sizes, and colors; and I've also known great folks from all over the spectrum. If you're nice, fun, treat people well, and have a good head on your shoulders, I'll respect you. I really don't care who you sleep with.

I only dislike guys who are in the closet and constantly trying to "convert" straight guys. I can't stand the 100 threads in the ASK A STRAIGHT MAN section where gay guys are trying to find clever ways for straight guys to do gay shit and still call themselves straight. Other than that...I have NO problem whatsoever with what people do in their life. That's between them and God...no for me (and mere mortal sinner) to judge.

I don't agree when people claim homosexuality equates to damnation..

I'm gay, so maybe I shouldn't really say anything here ... ?

But, I think there's a whole range of types in ANY slice of life you want to look at.

Some gay people are strong, quiet, reliable. Some are weak, noisy, not to be trusted too far.

There's a huge range of personality types among people whether they are gay or straight, male or female, any race, any social "class", any occupation, from any city or country.

Some you'd enjoy having as friends, some you wouldn't. There are no rules.

...
Oops... I laughed aloud...><'

Nah, seriously it always dépends on the guys, but I really see very little drama with my straight friends, and a lot of gay drama... ><'

Depends. Im the most detached and uncaring male (gay) you'll ever meet.

I just dont care about a lot of things.

Well my friends are more of the masculine gay dudes who openly talk about their activities. Maybe I wouldn't mesh as well with flamboyant fem types. Keep in mind it's my hetero friends picking fights at the club I work at.., all the time alot of drama

I've got friends of all shapes and sizes, genders and sexualities - it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Even when people "came out" back about 6 years ago, the only thing I was phased about was the fact that they felt the need to tell me that they were gay. If they turned up with a girl or a guy, it wouldn't matter. My friends are my friends, regardless of whether they are gay, straight, bi, trans or whatever.

Its because coming out is a serious matter for 90% gay 10% straight dudes. Most of us dont get what heteros tthink. For me its a way of saying "now you know Im gay, let me see if youd still hang out with mme still. And quite frankly not all heteros are open to have gay friends

No problem, here. :)
I'm fully straight, but not narrow. I'm comfortable with other folks sexual orientations as long as no one is harmed or denied their rights (such as anything without consent or involving children). I'm very much supportive of peoples rights and freedoms, and I'm very comfortable with my own sexuality, to the point where homophobia doesn't exist in my mentality. I can admire and compliment men and women without worrying about my own sexuality. In fact, I dislike homophobia or discrimination of ANY kind.
