No, anyone, regardless of orientation, can ask a question in this section, but only straight men may answer. Since you are new here, I would recommend you familiarize yourself with both the rules for using the "Ask a..." sections as well as just the general do's & don'ts of the site, several of which the Powers That Be have outlined in this section
https://www.lpsg.com/forums/warning-center.691/.
I have no idea your past involvement on online forums, but having been a member of several most have had rules regarding responding to threads that were past a certain date of the last posting, usually within a year to two on average. Even those sites who didn't specifically spell it out or hand out warnings or violations, it is still generally considered bad form to reanimate a thread on a topic that has been clearly dead for several years, especially when the poster really has nothing of significance to add to the discussion and of which several other similar threads exist.
If you think any of the rules are "goofy" or disagree, I'd suggest you take it up with a Moderator or the owner as the veteran members who post in this section are not just pulling these reminders out of our asses just to be mean to you, but to genuinely help out a Newbie so you don't run afoul of the rules and get negative points.
Hopefully you will stick around long enough to maybe hopefully see that given the redundancy of questions and failure to follow the guidelines that
@tobythecat outlined, a lot of the frustration some here feel is justified.
