  1. Have you ever strung someone along? If so, why?
  2. Did you realize you were doing it at the time?
  3. What do you gain from stringing someone along? I assume there is some payoff.
  4. Do more women string along men? Or do more men string along women?
  5. Is it true that stringing along does not occur in gay or lesbian relationships because y'all are just nicer more considerate and honest people?

2 : deceive , fool <string alonging us along with ruses and red herrings — John Powers>

I was once strung along by a guy. He was hoping to wait me out and have his brother and cousin convince me to participate in their orgies. Originally I thought he was a nice guy who was looking to change his lifestyle, but he was just too good to be true.

I have never strung someone along. What could I possibly gain? The truth always comes out.

i have never strung anyone along. what a cowardly thing to do.
i also have never allowed myself to be strung along.
i know that women have tried to do this to me but i would have none of it.
i don't know if it is more prevelant amongst men or women or if gay people do this.
regardless of who does it, i cannot even imagine what the 'stringer alonger' hopes to gain. control perhaps? some kind of weird idea that they have an option until something better comes along?
moral of the story: don't string people along. shit or get off the pot.
