Strippers - Good/Bad ?

Name one thing that's wrong with a strip club?

Clubs where women are forced into their work out of violent threats etc? Horrible. But the exception and not the norm. But then again, exploitation happens in all levels of industry. If the only problem is that the strippers are hurting themselves, they're not being forced to do it... Gamblers hurt themselves, and there are gambling associations set up to help them... same facilities for strippers? nope..

I actually don't know which side I'm on here, (i too often empathise with both sides) but I really have no personal problem with strip clubs.

I see nothing wrong with either being a stripper or watching one. I have to add that when I worked in Las Vegas megaresorts, the most cheerful, nicest and most interesting convention was the porn convention. My theory was that they were so happy because they got laid all the time. My least favorite: the fucking cowboys. When the rodeo was in town they stunk up the hotels. Some were hot.

I also think prostitution should be legal everywhere.

I don't have a problem with strip clubs. If that's your thing, then go and enjoy. I remember the first time I went to a strip club, I initially found it exciting and hot. As the evening wore on though, I started thinking about how the women ended up making the decision to become strippers. I concluded that most either do it because 1) they enjoy it, or 2) they need the money. To each his own and not my area to judge.

Strip clubs can be fun, but you have to go for the right reasons- amusement. If you go to get laid, you usually won't, unless you're willing to shell out big bucks. If you're going to fall in love, you're a moron and should kill yourself promptly. If you just go to laugh a lot and hear some bizzarre stories of who did what to whom, chances are you'll have fun and call it an enjoyable evening.

Strippers have to be 18 years old, which would make them an adult, legally speaking at least. Yes, I know there are indeed girls that are younger than 18, but they know what they're doing is wrong. I bought alcohol before I was 21, and I knew that I wasn't obeying the law.

Let people do what they want to do as long as they're not hurting anyone. If getting naked and dancing around is what you want to do in order to make money, go for it. As for the whole drugs/alcohol/sleeping with customers thing.....we as humans are born with something called "rational choice". If someone doesn't have a gun to your head, it's your fault if you choose to get caught up in that kind of lifestyle. Strippers are no exception.

Damn, I was in Florida a couple months ago but never made it to Miami. The Mafia involvement in the strip clubs there has always freaked me out a bit. It probably is better there, but Tampa, Orlando, Daytona Beach and West palm were nothing to write home about.

I did it - for several years - in strip clubs in DC. One had a shower, & the other was right next door to the glory hole. I enjoyed the attention, AND THE $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, but I DID feel a bit trashy to be in such a seedy environment. But the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.... you wouldn't believe it!

It would be hypocritical of me to condemn it. Actually, male dancers can make a fair amount of money in Ladies' Only clubs; Chippendale's dancers are not starving. This is especially true in a tourist location like New Orleans. My oldest brother started dancing in a ladies' club, but moved to gay venues when he found out the difference in pay. The ladies' clubs offer a higher base pay, but the tips are much better in gay clubs. When I began dancing, I was amazed at how much money I could make for a couple hours of work. I still get a bit offended when I read comments that imply that exotic dancers are prostitutes. I never had sex with a patron regardless of how much money I was offered; I was not a hustler. I steered clear of drugs. It paid my bills while I was attending college. It was a profession that I remained in up to the time I earned my master's degree, and I don't regret it. If you can manage the job and not let it run you, it can be a profitable decision. It was a job, it was legal, it was separate from my personal life, and I now have a cozy nest egg. Whether or not it's a good idea depends on the person considering it.

LOL, that's always been my contention! At least the girls are EARNING money, the men are losing it! I always get such a kick out of the arrogant assholes who go into those clubs and have the audacity to look down their nose at the girls as if they are somehow superior, it floors me. They're the ones who have to pay someone to talk to them.

The atmosphere in clubs where men are stripping for women is soooo much different. Women will giggle with their girlfriends while they stuff money down the guy's g-strings, but rarely do they expect to "get lucky". The only gay club where I saw men strip, they were treated far more respectfully as well, but I've only been to one. Funny thing is the guys were straight but just appreciated the better money.
