So I live in a state were recreational marijuana is legal. Folks are starting to do studies about the effects of weed and workouts. The first group seemed to mostly cover post workout muscle repair. In those studies they found the effects after workouts allows your body to relax more and allow the cellular magic to work better. I kinda get that. But the next group covered ingesting before the workout. I read a few that showed many find they are able to focus better during the workout....

So for the first time, I went to the gym today high (just one dose of a gummy bear sativa). I found the workout more fun. I was more "in the zone". My neck which is usually tight as I begin so it must loosen up was already relaxed. I did a nice long cardio and did a nice set of machines and a bit of free weights.

One side effect: I tended to enjoy the fit bodies around me a bit more than usual. I smiled more, and they smiled more as well. Not in a pickup way but just being social and enjoying the moment. This might become my standard Saturday late morning workout Anybody else doing this from time to time?

I too live in a state that medical & recreational marijuana is legal. I discovered a nice 1:2 ratio of THC to CBD (bc I suffer from inflammation in my left shoulder). Started using the 1:2 and it was AMAZING! Same thing ... GREAT workout, happy to be there and to see others. I found I was super focused and over the course of a month my workout charting showed an upswing in weight I was lifting!
The “1” in the 1:2 ratio was about 15mg so I was not HIGH but focused. Now I can’t workout without it. Plus... I now want to eat right after my wo and that’s a good thing. I used to NOT want anything and had to force myself to eat.

My question is: you felt chill and focused, but were you actually doing more work?
A definite yes. Today my body is telling me I'm a bit more "worked out" from yesterday. I can't say I jumped up in my weights and reps. But my form and smoothness was more focused. It will take time to see if the numbers increase. To put it another way, I felt like it was a positive workout at least for me.

I've long been a fan (as my doctor as well) that CBD at least at night is very helpful for muscle aches. Granted my workouts are not designed for big muscle growth but rather for longevity. Hence, I don't look at pushing my lifting as much as my outdoor activities are easier to enjoy (and lose some weight along the way).

I wake up with some bong rips and then head early to lift before work. I don’t directly attribute anything to the weed, but i like feeling my body and being able to push it since a body high can dull pain. It’s more that I’m just a stoner who has a smoke sesh coinciding with my work out

I enjoy using it before I workout. It keeps me more focused on my movements when I lift, and like @Salvia says, doing cardio while high keeps you in the zone. I fell like I can run forever. @WilliamG I agree about noticing the fit bodies more, I have to remind myself that I am high and too stop staring. Hit the sauna when I'm done, after the shower I am so refreshed and relaxed physically and mentally, it's the greatest!!

Hit the sauna when I'm done, after the shower I am so refreshed and relaxed physically and mentally, it's the greatest!!

That was the only thing missing about my experience was a sauna... That would have changed the whole dynamic!

The cannabis is studied for a very long time and this is really a very controversial plant. Not every country wants to legalize it and I don't understand why? This has much more benefics if to compare with alcohol. It helps a lot at cancer fighting and weed prevents many other diseases. Look how many persons are treated of depression by the help of weed. I don't think that this is harmful for humans organism and that's why I found my dispensary and I'm just enjoying the life.

My advise - get much, much more stoned and see how that goes.

I started doing CBD a month ago before bed. Sleeping better. I see guys use other % levels at gym but didn’t understand why. Hope others add to thread.

Same Bro... I started CBD coming up on 2 months, I sleep better but can't really tell that it does anything for my workout. but in saying that I'm a big fan of pre-workout (psychotic or 51/50 love them) so it would take something pretty intense for me to notice.
