Supposedly turned his life around

many harbor a deep resentment for what he did.
The Philadelphia Eagles Football team signed him and last year had a stellar season as the Eagles starter.
As you can see from the comments on this thread, hiring him for endorsement deals is like drinking poison.
Many football fans were very vocal about not wanting their teams to sign him, even though he was far more talented than many of the quarterbacks out there.
What does his past personal life have anything to do with his sportsmanship on the field over the past season?
Sportsman of the year. The dog fighting was years ago. Not only did he serve his time for it, but he came back in a big way against the odds.

Pete Rose's misdeeds directly involved the game and disrespected what it stands for; that is nothing like making mistakes in your personal life that are wholly unrelated to the game.

I suppose using marijuana, trafficking marijuana, spreading herpes, fighting dogs, shoplifting, And making obscene gestures to fans just pales in comparison (in your eyes at least). To Pete Rose betting ON the reds as a MANAGER, not a player.

Recreational drug use and sexual activity should have no bearing on how their conduct on the field and towards the game is perceived. Making obscene gestures at fans isn't acceptable because it is directly related to the sport.
