Lost another friend last night. He decided a gun to the head was the only way to defeat years of chronic pain.
Through the early years I lost many of my gay brothers to HIV and an equal number took their own lives.
At 55 I’d become complacent and thought my circle of friends was beyond this.
Love your friends and family members. Life is so fucking precious. Peace.

You folks are truly the best. The point of my post wasn’t to get kind and wonderful notes from members, but it did that.
I just wanted to remind everyone that life is so precious and tell people you love them.

Deeply sorry. My heart goes out to you and your friend. My best friend at 21 shot himself in the head. Depression.

Doing fine thank you. Our circle of friends has closed ranks and been so helpful. Time eases the pain, still quite a shock. We met at a local favorite restaurant of his to celebrate what would’ve been his 49th birthday. Bittersweet evening.

I was away when you posted this and have just now found it. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's almost unbearable when I think of those I knew who've been lost in the epidemic and at their own hand. I cannot find any anger for those who took their own lives just the deepest sorrow and sympathy knowing I'm clueless to the depth of the pain and suffering which drove them to it.

Hugs out to you mate. I lost a friend to suicide at the beginning of the year. She struggled with coming out as trans (exacerbated by her mother's reaction), and also was battling depression. I know exactly what you mean, these tragedies bring people together and everyone supports each other. Know that with your friend, he'll remain with you forever in your memories, cherish those memories.
