Are you heading out-of-town for a summer vacation? If so, where are you going and why did you choose that location? If not, will you take a "Stay-cation" or a "Day-cation"?

I'm taking a quick road trip around the Midwestern US to explore a few states that I've not been to yet. Later on this summer, I've been invited to go north to attend a summer assembly camp. International travel is too pricey for me during the summer months...I might do something later in the year and get more bang for my buck.

    What are your plans?

I'm already there. I'm on the mainland until the weather gets cold. I have to go to LA to work for a few days next month. My other half and I are going to visit friends near Boston in the fall before I go home for the winter.

I've just booked an apartment in Positano on the Costa Amalfitana for two weeks at the beginning of August, I've been a couple of times before, and I adore it. Nights in Ravello and trips to Paestum etc here I come. Cannot wait!

I think you should plan a daycation about 70 miles south of where you live. It's time for another cookout.

I'm not going anywhere this summer until visitors arrive in August. Then we're going to the mountains for 4-5 days.

I spend a week on the coast nearly every September at my friend's home just near Atrani. Positano is lovely if a bit crowded in the high season.

I'll escape the August heat of Antalya this year and spend it in nice and cool British Columbia. The Gulf Islands and Long Beach. Nothing strenuous... just fishing in the boat and some hiking. The place is heaven on Earth and I don't know why I am not there year round.

Southern France in September for some motorcycling around Aix and the boat shows in Cannes and Monaco. Then ride down to Amalfi at the end of the month.

I'm fortunate to live 3 blocks from the beach in a place that people pay big buck to get to for their vacation. During the summer, friends from out of town come here to visit me. We ride bikes, go to the beach, have dinner parties (I'm the chef), drink some good wine, and enjoy eachothers company. I'm thinking of doing the Flightline at the San Diego Wild Animal Park (a zip line). I started a new job in April and will not have time off until next summer. I'm hoping to go to Ireland and France next summer when vacation time comes. Meanwhile, I have nothing to complain about being in San Diego. The ocean is getting warm. The air is still cool. It barely hit 70 at the beaches today. Fine by me. I know other places in the country are in the 90s. Yuk! A common saying here is: "Another day in paradise!" Works for me.

I live three miles from SFO. on my disability retirement, all I can afford is to sit in the International Terminal and act like a tourist.

Hmmm.... do you send food parcels?

    I'm not going anywhere I don't think.
I've had one trip away this year so it's a Stay-cation for me.
That said, it's no hardship as I, too, live next to the beach.
