Summer Plans

Well, summer time is upon us! Does anyone have any special plans? If not, what do you WANT to do? I know it's only mid june, but still, SOMEONE must have some plans or thoughts!

I'm going to the Ft. Lauderdale area for a week. It should be intersting and fun! I can't wait! Dad doesn't want me to go since he's not going what a turd! It'll be a blast!

I want to follow Dr Rock around to take advantage of all the looting opportunities in the wake of his scourge.


Seriously, I plan to enjoy as many concerts here as I can and get ready to move south at the end of the summer. I don&#39;t know if I&#39;ll be able to work in another vacation before then, but if it happens, I&#39;ll go back to Florida for a week or so.

A week of camping with my boy toy in the back, back, back mountains and the high desert of New Mexico as far away from any other human being as possible. Naked as much as possible. San Francisco Pride next week. Nawlin&#39;s for Southern Decadence and a trip to Bumble Bee&#39;s Butt Michigan to visit the inlaws....ick. Oh, gonna&#39; paint the kitchen too. Quiet summer for us. No trip to UK this year....can not afford the two to one situation.

My summer is looking far more hectic than I&#39;d planned, but not unmanageably so (he says, knowing fate will sock it to him now&#33.

Full teaching load for the summer but some great new students. A number of big projects still up in the air and uncompleted. Wanted to do a major overhaul to some of the perennial gardens, but that&#39;s been pushed to the back burner.

But, like Madame_Zora, I&#39;m hoping to continue the regular ritual of summer concerts (three lined up already, first one this weekend&#33.

Plus I&#39;m doing something for ME by taking a class in glassblowing at a local artist&#39;s studio&#33; (Here&#39;s hoping I don&#39;t get horribly burned by molten glass)

Work... unfortunately.

I am teaching a course this summer (both sessions) as well as working on a publication.

You know, maybe I should consider tenure track faculty... I would have the option of having my summers off.

I&#39;m thinking about going to the upper midwest to study the habitat of the Northern penguin.

Failing that I&#39;ll probably just add to my collection of bellybutton lint.

I&#39;d like to join Pecker; northern Penguins are a delight. But, alas, my partner&#39;s mother is in failing health and we have to hover nearby. I did sneak away last weekend for four days with my "first" in Palm Springs. Perfect weather, good food, I forget what happened after 9 o&#39;clock...
