Sunny Rest Nudist Resort in Pa. is one of the oldest continually operating nudist resorts in the U.S.. Here one-time owner Zelda Suplee (a.k.a. Yolanda Reed) went on a game show called What's My Line way back in 1953. She made a big impression on the audience and panelist Steve Allen in-particular.

In the 1950s and early 60s Sunny Rest also had the distinction of being a fly-in resort. A short 1,800 foot grass strip was located adjacent to the resort where pilots could fly-in with planes of the day such as rag-wing Piper Tri-Pacers and Cessna taildraggers. Today all that remains is appropriately named Airport Road which runs through the center of the resort.

History aside, we've heard good things about Sunny Rest. Because it is family friendly with close to a 50/50 mix of male and females I highly encourage you to come with a wife, girlfriend-- or at the minimum a platonic female friend. Nudist resort members are often somewhat cool and standoffish to single males, particularly new visitors.

When you get back give us a trip report.
