authorities twittered a suspect nude - and users make fun of his ("average") sized junk and body:

some user comments:
  • If only he had some distinguishing features to help police identify him. Looks like he is giving them very little to work with though...
  • This is the ideal male body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.Surely these pix show a lot more than anyone would need to see to ID this bloke.
  • My brother would agree with you, he also believe it's the perfect bod for a mankini
  • Did they have to?
  • Oh come on we didn’t need to see his peanut (actual size)
  • The average Aussie man
  • I mean, if the extra detail helps someone identify him, their coming forward with the info is going to be rough. "Hello, I uh, saw the uncropped photo you posted and uh, well I've seen that junk before."
  • Hope Santa gives him some suspenders to keep his pants up... and a magnifying glass to find his umm... other thing

i am for sure not excusing him from his alleged crime - but i also think there are some minimal standards regarding privacy rights. I really wonder why the authorities are publishing his junk! is this even legal?
is this a new form of internet-pillory, new age? what's next?

You get caught committing criminal acts on video - naked - people are going to make fun of you. This is not new, it is fair. Now, if this guy was hacked of his phone or an angry romantic partner published the pics to embarrass him, that is different.

Frankly, I feel he has it coming to him. If a guy's so foolish as to commit a crime and show his junk like that, he deserves whatever happens to him. Actually I'd pile on for the beer gut!

Agree with both @keenobserver and @halcyondays

While I have little sympathy for crooks and thieves, I think they could have cropped the picture. They must have done it to humiliate the guy. And naturally, shitty people flocked to Twitter to jeer like carrion crows on a battlefield. QLD Police will probably be sued by this guy's lawyer.

He asked for his own humiliation. I feel no sympathy for him. He's a criminal. I guess he could say is little dick drove him to a life of crime. Great defense.

I don't feel any sympathy for him either. There's so many things wrong with what he did that we could actually have a very long discussion about it. It's not fair to others though. I would imagine if a woman were to do the same there would be absolutely zero photos hitting the internet. Not that i would want that. And there's still a chance i'm wrong on that seeing as how things have gotten insane regarding that sort of thing before but treating women's bodies like sex objects even when there might be a crime at play or they're just naked then doing this with a guy isn't right.

I don't know. Just a thought.

Allegedly.

Lots of condemnation here and abandonment of the presumption of innocence, aka police and prosecutors are always right, aka if you're arrested and accused you're automatically guilty and by the way we'll try and convict him in the court of public opinion in advance. Noddle potential jurors. Reference the Central Park Five.

In the absence of further information we don't know if this suspect is mentally ill or homeless or an addict who needs help and care. Regardless of the crime for which he's accused he should not have been pictured nude by law enforcement in the media. If I'm on the jury I acquit because of it.

Go on. Rush to judgement.
