Never been to Swinging Richards or any of the other spots mentioned, but I did go to the Gaiety in NY once. It was a lot like the Stock Bar.
The Gaiety was really a gay porn theatre. At scheduled times they would stop the movies and live male strippers would take the stage. There were usually 5 or 6 dancers. Each guy would do a 3 song set solo. The 1st song they would strip down to a jock or g string. The 2nd song they got naked then go back stage and fluff themselves up and come back on stage naked and hard for a 3rd song. After each guy had done his solo set there was a finale with all the dancers being reintroduced and coming back on stage naked and hard for one last song. A lot of the guys were chorus dancers from Broadway productions and were pretty good dancers. After the finale the guys would get dressed and come out to a lounge area to "meet their fans". There wasn't any VIP room or private show areas in the theatre but there was an opportunity arrange a hookup at a nearby hotel. Denise, the woman that ran the place, liked to have "fresh meat" for the shows and would book guys from Montreal clubs and other cities for the shows. Me and a buddy from the Nob Hill in San Fran made a trip to NYC and did a gig at the Gaiety in th 80's. The Gaiety was a causality of Guilianni's Times Sq. clean up and is closed now. Too bad.Never been to Swinging Richards or any of the other spots mentioned, but I did go to the Gaiety in NY once. It was a lot like the Stock Bar.
Atlanta do have other clubs....BJ Roosters, In The Cut (Big Black and Latino Dicks) on Thursday and Sunday nights, Bliss to name a few...they are all a one mile radius!
Swinging Richards is tired and either hit or miss...
I wish we had more male entertainment clubs here...

Yeah, Swinging Richards is kind of tired indeed. They seem to lack a true variety of quality dancers especially the ones of color. I went for the second time last summer and was so unimpressed. Also get annoyed by the fact that some of them were obnoxious about going to the V.I.P. If I didn't want to go the first time then don't keep bugging me about it.
Next time I go out to a strip club, I am going to hit BJ Roosters and In the Cut.
You're lucky. The one we had here in Baltimore was closed down many years ago, and now I have to drive 45 min. to an hour to Secrets in D.C.
I went to Bliss for the first time when I was in ATL last month. It was great, and a little more "upscale" than SR. I've been to BJ's several times and it was just meh. There are some pretty hot guys there, though.
Use to be a great place in Windsor, across from Detroit, called Happy Taps. Anyone remember it?
