Take care of yourself (downer topic warning)

A friend of mine (a wonderful person) was told he had colon cancer.

He's such a smiling, warm, funny, wonderful person, that it's sad to see him go through this.

It looks as though it's going to be okay, as they "caught it early," but he said it's been painful for him and his girl. Next week he goes in for surgery.

Just be careful folks. I know many of you are young, but please try to think of your middle age health. Fiber and exercise.

I know! I know! I need to cut down on the beer.

How true it is. My mom found out that she has diabetes this summer and ever since then I've been worried for her as well as for myself.

Sorry to hear that, agnslz. Hope it's a lower form of the disease.

My wife read me an article about sugar: 100's of years ago, kids would enjoy sugar treats perhaps once a year. Can you imagine? No more than once per year?
