Now that I'm all healed up after a particular physical experience, and that experience happened to completely change my body I'm going to take it back, and love it more than ever before.

My Bowflex and my yoga mat found their way back into my daily routine, I'm cutting back on alcohol after a month of kinda heavy drinking a lil too regularly, and we're going to stop making so many excuses to eat ridiculously unhealthy food.

The journey has begun... Let's see what kinds of twists and turns it takes.

Here's to saying FUCK DEPRESSION, and taking a physical approach to regaining control!! :emoji_metal:

Hi Tight_N_Juicy, so nice to hear you took the most important and hardest step to take! That would be the first one. Good luck with your desire to regain control, so happy for you.

I am so proud of you TnJ for taking control. And reading this morning that you are sore makes me so happy! That's good stuff right there.

Physical exertion/exercise/lifting has become my go to when I'm moody or otherwise out of sorts. An hour in the gym followed by some good Cardio always puts me in a better mindset than when I walked in.

Go on with your bad self. We are all rooting for you!

I recently started training BJJ @ an MMA gym after not exercising in years. I did not realize how poor my health has become. This is the most challenging physical task I’ve ever experienced. Some days I’m depressed about not being able to complete a class or a particular move. Other days I feel pumped about it. Mostly I just want to be consistent & hit my fitness goal.

@Tight_N_Juicy I just realized this is your thread & not an open “fitness” thread. My apologies for derailing with my own story. I read yours and thought “I guess I’ll share”. Once again I apologize.

On topic: It’s beautiful to see that you’re fighting and getting better every day. Thank you for sharing that because it’s very encouraging.

Feel free to contribute.. I'm fine with others sharing their experiences.

Well, in that case....I might be going the opposite direction. I might be on the downslide. I'm working as hard as ever to hit it hard but every friggin' morning I hurt in ways that I didn't used to hurt. My shoulder hurts so much it makes me wince. My knee starts to jab if I sit for too long. My sciatic nerve--let's not even go there. My elbow makes it painful to grab and hold things sometimes. My family (nearly) scoffs, "You're exercising like you're 40 and you can't do that anymore!"

I have the same problems. The more you try to improve, he more stuff starts breaking. Felt “better” when fat and lazy!
Not sure how old you are but it started for me in middle 30’s.
You need to do a lot of pre-hab. Kind of like a warm up but different. Exercises to help you exercise.
The pain of this is that due to time constraints it shortens the time you can exercise.
After a certain age (usually 40) it’s tendons and accessory muscles that hinder you I.e knee stabilizers. Get these strong so the pain goes away and the major muscles can work.
Google “rehab exercise ( injured body part)” or “ prehab “
