I have to agree- lightly tanned is fine, the 'leather purse look' is not...

Pale is fine, tho the 'glow in the dark white' can be a bit much...

Big time nudist here as well, so I try to stay lightly tanned (learned a LONG time ago that sunscreen goes EVERYWHERE...

The '2 tone' of a nice tan can be intersting (like a red arrow saying 'Check out my nipples or balls!)

Oh yeah, I agree...I'm a fledgling nudist and have re-discovered the joys of being safe in the sun with a bit of nice color...and the pain of NOT covering all the bits that aren't sun-safe yet...ouch. I'm usually pretty anal (no comments) about covering everything with sunblock but it's not always perfect coverage. The eventual all-over tan is very sexy!

Give me a nice, healthy glow any day of the week. My other half is dark and tans easily. I'm one of the lucky blondes who can tan. I like that my hair gets lighter too - emphasises the tan more.

Pale and interesting is OK, but if the skin is practically blue or fish-belly white, that's not attractive at all in my eyes. I need some sunshine. Getting too close to that shade myself now!

Personally, something more than pasty but less than George Hamilton.
haha okay, I can go along with that. Though I do like the contrast of tan lines.

I like a good tan, but I think that comes down to my own inability to turn anything other than red and freckle! Although I find that some girls and guys look great with freckles...

...im quite Irish, so i go from white to burnt in about 5 minutes, then i peel right back to white...with a few more freckles than i started with heh

Smudgey & Drumstyck, I dated a guy of Irish/French descent for many years. He had strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes and never tanned. He burned, peeled, then freckled. One of the 'games' we used to play was Kiss the new Freckles. He would point to a random spot on his body then I would kiss it. It always amazed me so many freckles appeared on his penis when it never saw the sun. j/k

Tanned, but not burnt. I think a slight golden tan looks more healthy. Very pale skin looks unhealthy to me, but on the flip side someone who spent so much time in the sun that their skin looks like leather looks just as bad.

This question is for everyone, whether you're interested in men or women. Do you find yourself attracted to people with tan or pale skin? Personally I find myself more attracted to people with light colored skin, or if their skin is naturally olive colored. Especially if they person has light blonde hair, I think it looks unnatural for their skin to be very dark.

I don't know if this is because of the negative health effects of tanning. The fact that over 10,000 people die of skin cancer every year has been enough to keep me applying the sun block. Also, tanning ages the skin much more rapidly and causes age spots. I don't want my significant other looking like beef jerky when we get older. If you think tanning beds are better, they aren't. They can actually contain up to 15x more UV rays.

So for me, I prefer natural, untanned skin. What about you guys?

PS, I don't mean to offend anyone by this thread if you tan. Just personal preference.

Im not fussy dude. Pale, tanned or black - it depends on the person. Some people look hot with a golden tan, others tan and come out looking like lobsters!

Its funny - in the Victorian era, pale skin was a sign of wealth and status, because it meant you were rich enough not to have to work. Now an all year around tan is a sign of wealth, because it shows you are rich enough to go jet setting around the world chasing the sun.

Despite all the worries about tanning a little bit of sun does you good i think! Makes you feel warm, cosy and horny!

Being part American Indian, I tan easily and sometimes very dark and during the summer months end up with great tan-lines. Can't stand PALEFACES!!! No, seriously, I do prefer blonds like Damien.

Is it wrong that I thought that was really, really funny?

Getting out in the sun is great, but seeing someone shaked-and-baked in the middle of winter is for me like putting up a billboard that says "MELANOMA." Also, I find strong tan lines particularly wretched.

Of course, I live in balmy Canada. If I were from Costa Rica I might feel differently.

Pale skin, dark brown hair. I totally dislike blondes, except those blondes that pretty much are brown and are only called blonde because people obess over blonde being "good" and "attractive".

On tan guys, I like rich brown hair or pure black hair rather than dark/dusty brown.

I prefer people to be whatever colour they were born with. If you were born Casper-the-ghost white, then I think that's the way you were meant to be, and it's probably the way you look the best. I used to hate my pale skin, but I've come to appreciate it, and I'm glad I didn't tan (and damage my skin) too much in my teens and twenties. I don't even use self-tanner anymore -- I am the colour I am, and people will just have to deal with it.

That said, to me, beauty itself has nothing to do with skin colour. I've seen gorgeous people with olive skin, ruddy skin, and anywhere from nearly blue-black to nearly albino. I love them all.
