Threads get started on one subject and often within minutes they're going off in another direction that had nothing whatsoever to do with the thread topic. Do you like threads to meander a little or do you prefer them to stay on course?

I like the way they go in all directions myself, I find it fascinating the way our brains can link one subject to another unrelated subject and have fun with the way it's gone.

    Traditional Haggis

    1 sheep's pluck (stomach bag)
    2 lb.. dry oatmeal
    1 lb. suet
    1 lb. lamb's liver
    2 1/2 cups stock
    1 large chopped onion
    1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper,
    Jamaica pepper and salt

Boil liver and parboil the onion, then mince them together. Lightly brown the oatmeal.
    Mix all ingredients together.
Fill the sheep's pluck with the mixture pressing it down to remove all the air, and sew up securely.
Prick the haggis in several places so that it does not burst.
Place haggis in boiling water and boil slowly for 4-5 hours.
    Serves approximately 12.

LOL -- you mean that after undergoing all that boiling, a haggis can get up and serve 12 people?

Which reminds me, blue goes rather well with green.

It annoys me when people seriously undermine the topic of what would otherwise be a good or educational thread (not this one)

I especially hate fleshpiles. WTF is going on there? Are people wanking over that shit?

I just had 8 pieces of toast.

It depends on what the thread is about... I once started a thread about some pretty fucked up and severe child abuse, and within three posts, the topic had turned to cars. That pissed me off. But if the thread isn't that deep or educational anyway, then I don't really mind... as long as I get at least a few answers or comments on what I had originally posted, then it doesn't matter.

I don't mind them unless they're in a thread I care about. Me so selfish. :biggrin1:

I'm all for meandering meaninglessly often the most interesting posts in a thread have nothing to do with the original topic.

Now off to lick the fridge.

I do like it when threads go off-topic here. In fact, it's one of the reasons I've always loved LPSG. That it's even allowed and often encouraged by most of the members is one of the things that sets LPSG apart from other places on the 'net. I'm a member of other forums where threads are locked or the posts are deleted if they veer off topic.
