It is possible to feel that kind of infatuation toward someone without being sexually attracted to them, though. I crushed bigtime on a girl in the class ahead of mine when I was a junior in HS. Never wanted to do anything physical with her, she was just my muse for drawing and painting.

Forever pissed that he wasn't nominated for an Oscar for it despite earning precursor nominations.
Sometimes the academy can come up with weird results and personal matters play into how people vote. Taron seems a really nice lad but maybe he has upset some people in the film making community and thus they didn't vote for him? Sometimes behind the scenes stuff is key to explaining why an obvious nomination never happened Just a possibility I am speculating on.
Politics does come into play with nominations, with everything else in life.
As one poster already mentioned. He could have a reputation behind the scenes. Maybe he’s not well liked, or some other issues. No one knows what someone is truly like once the camera is not on. Everyone is an actor in public. Some of his personality has come up with his Instagram posts. He then decided to take a break from social media.
Tbh anyone who has ever met him has said he is very nice. The only time I have heard a story of him freaking out on someone is when he had an actual stalker who was following his entire family back in his hometown. Apparently he got a restraining order against her.
for me the biggest snub of the decade, he deserves it more than Rami Malek, Brendan Fraser or even Will Smith
