Tattoos: turn on or turn off

It's impossible to generalise. I remember a guy with eyes badly tattooed on his bum-cheeks. NO.

When you say "tribal", do you mean that literally, or is it a genre of European tattooing? Samoans can have their thighs tattooed, from naval to knees, non-electrically. It must be agony, but it looks stunning... then you see old men with it who've run to fat....

The poll seems to imply tattooing of females, whether they turn men on. Can't answer that, but in general I find tattoos sexually neutral.

It is a daisy of sorts (typical lower back tattoo at 18 to piss off my parents)....yes...I want to expand it and have it wind up in a delicate way with a few large flowers (like dahlias/gardenias) and have little explosions of other flowers...i don't want a ton of green and yellow...more of a burst of flowers rather than a vine...sort of like controlled chaos. But I also want to incorporate some stars, and a few other symbols/shapes/I like. I sort of want somewhere on there my eye...lol my own eye, somewhere in the midst of the flower bomb. Sounds like a mess right?

I typically love tattoos. Although it has to "suit" the person for it to be a turn-on.

It depends on the person and the tattoo. If someone has a couple of small, discrete tats, fine. If it's large and well-designed or part of a scheme, also fine. Some of the major pieces of artwork on arms, backs and shoulders look amazing.

If it looks like a toddler went crazy with a box of crayons or ink stamps, that's just sad. I'm also not a fan of quotations and scripts - especially if they haven't been proofread/translated/explained properly first. I've seen more than a few tats that made me want to reach for a red pen.

I guess it wouldn't to come as a suprise that big, well done pieces of tattoo art are a turn-on for me personally. But badly done tattoos on the other hand are actually one of my biggest turn-offs; to me a tattoo should be a custom piece of art that decorates your 'canvas' (what better medium than one thats alive, organic and evolving. It brings so much more oppertunities the the arts in general) rather than ruin it. Good art will probably cost you more than you were expecting to, will recuire some effort into finding the right artist for you and more often then not will recuire you to travel. You can tell a lot of a person by their tattoos.

It really depends on what and where. A lot of female acquaintances from where I'm from feel men without tattoos is a turn-off.
