Tattoos: turn on or turn off

For a girlfriend I don't care either way, however for a potential wife its either no tattoo or a few small ones.

usually prefer small ones but a while back had a woman with all of one arm and her shoulder tattooed like leopard skin - that was very sexy.

Meaningless trash art for me. Hate the "tribal" arm bands that have no meaning for the person wearing it. Hate random images. Looks like you slept on the comic pages of the paper. What's with the big old english name on your back? Think the guy doing you in prison will forget your name?

To me, the body is a temple and one should do nothing to deface it. I have actually been in the situation where I met a guy and gone home with him only to see when he stripped down that he had tats and I excused myself and left.

Tons of people are getting those tribal tattoos these days. Seems as if almost every gay man in New York have one on their arms, legs or back. Although I will admit that some of them do look hot in them, I don't like it when people go overboard with them.

Me personally? Tattoos are not my kind of thing. Won't be getting one for my body anytime soon.

I like some of the smaller tattoos, especially if they have meaning to them. But I am not a fan on the sleeves or large tattoos, especially on the face. Same with piercings.

While I'm not averse to tattoos, I am fairly picky about the subject matter. If you don't have a meaningful story to go along with each of your "pieces", then I have no interest in them (or you).

After seeing all the hipster chicks here in Tucson, I have to say that it's become a turnoff. I can't be a hypocrite because I have a couple myself, but they're on my shoulder blades and so they're not visible most of the time. I can admire some neat, intricately done small artwork. But if a chick is rocking a sleeve or a bunch of them trying them cover a full body part, the only thing I can think is, How the hell are you gonna get a job looking like that?

And since I'm trying to be a professor... well... Eh.

So, nope; they're a turnoff to me.

Yes, this. While sometimes I think a sleeve is a bit much, if well done on the right guy, I think it's totally hot.

Like many parts of my body, my large tattoos probably won’t look as good in another couple of years. No regrets, even when I’m old and wrinkled they’ll hold the same sentimental value and memories. I’m not stupid enough to think that people won’t judge me and for that reason have made sure that they are able to be hidden. I’d love a sleeve. If I decide to get one it will be art for me and not because of what others think.
