They should bullshit hyperbole on the internet. A penny per post and the budget would be balanced tomorrow.
The bottom line is taxes support our life styles. The tax rates in the USA are astonishingly low compared to most 1st world countries. Norway has very high income tax but no one goes without health care, university, elderly care. You need to pay if you want a good standard of living. Obviously there is always lots of governement waste but that's another issue. I met a waitress in Utah who had given up teaching because she made more money waiting on tables. What kind of society pays their teachers so little?
OOPs :frown1:I'll assume you meant to type "tax".....and +1

Make that a tax on typos and bad grammar!![]()
Ok that is just a huge load of crap for a huge precentage of Americans. Unless you live in a large city, it is nearly impossible to do much of anything without a car. I live in a relatively small area (~150k) and I have no other choice but to own a car. There is no real public transport. If I have to buy groceries, I have at least a 2 mile drive to get there. My job is 12 miles away, and its not like I can walk to work (multiple 4-8 lane highways that are far from pedrestian friendly).
Necessity forces most to own a car.
Why do you keep calling me a hypocrit? Is it because I'm not down on my knees eating the bullshit spewing forth from your ass?
If you have such a problem with some of the laws/oridinances we have to obey, then by all means hire a lawyer and take your bitching to the Supreme Court. Do something about it instead of being a whiny turd goblin. That is all
Then why the fuck did you bring it up?
KTF40 said:No, it really doesn't. You chose to live in that small area therefore your feeling of being forced to buy a car has been your own doing.
I didn't. If you look, the only thing I brought up was that Obama has already raised taxes on the middle class and the poor. Never once in this thread have I engaged in a debate or discussed whether all people should have health insurance or not. That was just you doing that.
Even my own state will be taking the federal govt to court. Stop being ignorant.
You have to be very arrogant, if not completely unaware of a person's situation to come up with such an ignorant conclusion.
Nobody can force a free American citizen to live anywhere. You have a choice, especially if you have the financial resources to buy and drive a car.
I live in Northern Virginia, very close to DC. I just put DC because people know where that is instead of my actual hometown which isn't as well known. And I spend a ton of time in DC and live there some days so it's like my second home.Your location says DC. 1) DC is not a state 2) DC is not challenging the law
Indeed. But economic realities being what they are, sometimes someone is de facto forced into living somewhere where a car is required.
Do you drive there?I live in Northern Virginia, very close to DC. I just put DC because people know where that is instead of my actual hometown which isn't as well known. And I spend a ton of time in DC and live there some days so it's like my second home.

As long as you are free, you have a choice.
No, it wasn't. I was giving reasoning behind raising taxes, penalties, what have you, on the middle class.
Drive to the metro. Train takes me into the city.Do you drive there?
Right- you have a choice to be homeless I suppose. Real nice choice there![]()

Yeah, but then you won't have to pay car insurance lol. So obviously paying for your car insurance would be the better option in this scenario, right?
