i just finished doing my income taxes and my refund is larger than last year.

President Trump and I might bicker over our philosophical differences, but you can’t argue with success.

Obama gave $ billions to Wall Street. Trump is giving me an infinitesimally small amount in comparison, but at least it’s going into my wallet and not some elitist investment banker’s gold plated toilets.

I started this post as a joke/troll. But TBH, I’d rather get money for myself than have it go to bailouts. Although I still despise Trump

Glad the enormous increase in our national debt has lined your pocket with a little coin. The price will came later when we need to sort out the debt.

From 2008-2016 it went from $8.5 trillion to $19.5 trillion. Stop acting like nothing was wrong until Trump came along.

@pred please tell me where I have implied that it was every fine to accelerate the national debt? Have you read or heard me speak of being in favor of debt with other administrations? No, you have not. You are trying to start a fight with me like you do with others ... I'll not take your bait.

I don't like seeing the acceleration of debt that has gone on for years. The conservatives of the past "real conservatives" were always opposed to massive deficits. This fake conservative Donald Trump doesn't care because he's old and will be dead and buried when the debt collector shows up. He also seems to enjoy bankruptcy as evidenced by his past behavior.

The less tax the better.

If you want to be taxed the majority of your pay check and have inflation through the roof, go live in Venezuela.

You're in Australia. So kindly focus on issues in your own backyard and keep your Russian outlook out of ours.

Well, most of the people in my life got LESS this time and had to pay more. Every one of us lives paycheck to paycheck. My entire family, all my friends... We're all barely getting by. Even with my better paying job, I have no savings, and my returns weren't bigger, weren't what I equate to "success".

Trump gets no credit for his bullshit tax plan. Fuck him and fuck his supporters.

I give no credit to Any recent president on this topic. Until the billionaires and fucking Amazon pay their fair fucking share, I give no fucking credit to these assholes who claim to do the things they do for "The people". They do it for their fucking donors .

Amen!

Corporations and the super rich get away with paying no taxes and the GOP lemmings call them "genius. Those who make too little to pay income taxes are called "leeches and lazy". Just an example of their hypocrisy.

I'm sure those making too little to pay would gladly pay if it meant they made more each paycheck.

I received a nice refund this year. But my tax situation is so simple, and my income so low, I could take advantage of the doubled standard deduction, without being unduly affected by the exemptions and deductions no longer allowed.

Your mileage may vary.

You should remember, without Obama's billions you wouldn't have any bank account Trump could have send you the few bucks you got back ;)

There is no success if you give those money who already have enough and don't care for those who have too less.
There is no success if you increase the deficit at a time of full employment and economical growth. ;)

The difference is, between 2008 and 2016 we had to handle one of the biggest economical crisis and had to bailout the whole finance system...
The increase in debt was inevitable, but in the past years we had economical growth, full employment and nothing that could have justified massive spending, but still is Trump able to create a deficit of 6% of the GDP.
