I have a question and please don’t jump me because this is coming from a good place, lol. I love me some Taye. Late last year, I saw some discussions online about who the top Black male sex symbols in entertainment of the last 30 years are. I noticed some pushback when Taye was mentioned. It surprised me because I always thought he was very sexy. Especially in the 2000s. Even when someone ran a poll on who the king of the Black romantic comedy is, he lost to Morris Chestnut (his closest contemporary), which is wild to me because Taye has a slightly higher rom com lead percentage than Morris.
Which begs the question. Have Taye’s goofy social media antics and past comments chipped away at his sex symbol status? I am looking at Morris’ social media by comparison and it seems like he’s never been hotter/more lusted after. We just be laughing with and at Taye on IG and TikTok (he’s really hilarious
