can we talk about this though? they've been together for a while and when they got together by some estimates tay could've been as young as 20 whereas garrett is much older. other element is, that sure taylor had some money from modelling and acting, but his lifestyle (constant travelling etc) must've been funded by garrett. it makes me uncomfortable to a degree as it demonstrates two levels of nonequal distribution of power - garrett has the money and he is older. to an extent, it feels predatory or at least when tay was younger. i also hope taylor isn't stupid enough to rely on garret's money only, what if they break up? idk taylor seems happy with garrett but i hope it wasn't low key grooming the way it was with aaron taylor johnson and sam taylor johnson.

First of all, allegedly G and Tay have been together for more than 10 years now (earliest pics in 2012). I would have thought any tension/frustration due to power imbalance, if any, must have hit boiling point and resulted in a breakup long time ago. While Tay's family is most likely not as wealthy as G's, I don't think they will happily and willingly let their son be in an abusive relationship, as you're alluding to.

But honestly, if this was a hetero couple wherein the woman was a beauty pageant or supermodel and the man was a super wealthy man, no one would have bat an eye, like that's how it's supposed to be. Why the difference now?

Also, we don't know exactly how involved Tay is in G's business ventures. I think pretty deep judging from his interactions with G's business associates.

I’d be a little surprised considering they had to have known this was going to happen eventually. They haven’t exactly been super discreet about it and with the audience he’s gained from RWRB, there are inevitably going to be more people who notice it and look into it. If it was a woman next to him at every family/professional event and going on vacations with him for the past almost decade, there would already be tons of articles about it. It comes with the rise in fame unfortunately.
