I like THE REPUBLIC OF TEA brand , TAZO brand, and NUMI Organic teas. I drink the classic Southern LUZIANNE brand tea for my sweet iced tea kick. I have sipped on red (rooibos--African red bush), green, white, oolong. black, orange pekoe, honey bush, etcetera. I have lemons, sugar, milk<==got that from my mom as she was inspired by Brits. She knew about the tea routine and all. She did the routine for afternoon tea...with the tea sandwiches and the cookies.

I typically drink the smokey & peaty Lapsang Souchong but recently started enjoying
Mariage Freres - Paris' Marco Polo - amazing fruity black tea that is creamy and reminiscent of butterscotch! Great in the afternoon.

I love tea. I'm definitely addicted, but luckily I'm English so it's a socially accepted addiction.

Everyday teas are usually Twinings, Earl Grey or traditional English tea. My newest favourite is Genmaicha, a Japanese Green tea with toasted rice. I buy it in huge packets from a specialist Japanese store so it's really cheap. The scent of the tea is divine.

I like authentic Indian Chai Tea - not the kind you get from Starbucks which is toooo sweet. Got a box of tea bags from a local Indian Grocery Store.

I enjoy green tea with Japanese food and Jamine tea with Chinese food.

I'm not drinking anything at the moment, but I probably have about half-dozen different teas.

Black teas:
Earl Grey
Blackcurrant
Mixed Berry
This blend I got a local tea shop. Not sure what it is , exactly, but it's good.

White teas:
White Peony
Silver Needles (I think that's what it's called)
Those rolled-up tea leaf ball things
and I recently used up the last of this white lemon-berry blend that was really good.

I used to occasionally purchase glorious batches of loose leaf oolong at this wonderful tea shop in La Jolla. Just terrific stuff it was.

The past month I've been working my way through a big box of Twining's Earl Grey tea bags.

Needless to say, my tea tastes are flexible, although I appreciate a wonderful cup of fine tea.

Thank you for the compliment. ;)
Have not tried lapsang souchong. Can you give me an idea of the flavor? Full bodied? Fruity? Just effin' delicious? :biggrin1:

lapsang souchong is a smoked tea. The leaves are smoked to dry them. Quite strong and the smoked flavour is very prominent. Not my favourite, but interesting all the same.

Right now I'm having some Madura English breakfast (with my breakfast), but recently I've been having a lot of T2 Madagascan vanilla.

I first experienced blooming teas in Beijing. Cool stuff.

I also keep a supply of pearl Jasmine tea from RenTen Tea in case I'm feeling blegh.

Speaking of Beijing and tea, I've had tea all throughout China, from fairly far north all the way to Canton and Hong Kong. Admittedly, much of it was "garden variety" green tea. But it was consistently tasty and refreshing, and contributed significantly to a wonderfully extended China experience. OK, so I wanted to toot my horn (and I secretly bet I've had more tea in China than 99.999% of the membership here [basks alone in his house at this debatably magnificent, unverified "achievement"]).

Full disclosure: at this moment I'm drinking bourbon.

That is all.

Wow, your mom rocked!

Rooibos is my new fave! I find it isn't as astringent as some green teas can taste, or lacking flavor like white teas, and is a nice change from black or herbal blends.

To sweeten teas (not honey bush, chai, or fruity blends) we use raw honey (Wee Bee). It has the honeycomb and pollen blended in and feels sooooo creamy and smooth in the beverage!

All right, another Tazo recommendation! :) Definitely have to give the brand a try.

Thank you! I am drinking an aged pu-erh tea today, and am not sure I like the stronger flavor. If I can find a small amount at a tea shop, though, will definitely give it a try--maybe even use it as poaching liquid.
