Obama's Pastor: God Damn America, U.S. to Blame for 9/11

Sen. Barack Obama's pastor says blacks should not sing "God Bless America" but "God damn America."

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago's south side, has a long history of what even Obama's campaign aides concede is "inflammatory rhetoric," including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own "terrorism."

Rev. Wright married Obama and his wife Michelle, baptized their two daughters and is credited by Obama for the title of his book, "The Audacity of Hope."

I have a question to everyone here who are desperately trying to derail the topic and blame Obama, liberals or Black people for "spinning data". Where in the poll data did it suggest that ALL white people were like the Tea Partiers? Answer it truthfully... if you dare. Nobody needs to know the ideologies you preach and don't even live by.

Your actions are speaking MUCH LOUDER than your words. Sadly, you have no idea what those words really are.

what does that have to do with the posts that have been made?

It has EVERYTHING to do with the posts in this thread, as well as your actions. This isn't about your ideologies, your credos, code of ethics or any form of belief that you live by to make it to another day. This isn't about "libs" or "conservitards", nor is it really just a White/Black issue either. It's SO much more. So, answer the question truthfully or step aside.

You don't need polling statistics to define Americans who rally at Tea Party events--just a pair of eyes and ears. Read the signs and listen to the rhetoric. There are some truly angry white men and women who believe the US has strayed from its founding principles. IMO, these are people who are generally content with their own lives, and probably have worked hard for what they have, and don't believe the Feds should be reapportioning benefits to those less fortunate. These are the same people who most likely never believed they'd see an African-American President or white Americans becoming a minority within their lifetimes (not to mention gay couples marrying in some jurisdictions).

These are generally individuals who believe they can reverse the direction of government and demographic and social trends. As they come to the realization they can't, they become more and more frustrated and far more vocal and radical. There has always been a segment of society which is intransigent to change and obstinate to acknowledge reality. Technological advances in communication and our 24-hour cable news networks have given the Tea Party movement far more credence than it warrants.

Yes, all valid points.

I think Obama ends up making race an issue himself. ...

Yeah. If only he'd do something about that skin color of his.

The racism will continue as the white base shrinks in the future years. White Christian American will not go out in the decline quietly....
Good... The more trouble they cause and the more they whine and act like useless little bitches, the faster they will fall.

That's my favorite part... Yet when you ask these people to identify in detail what 'principles' it is that we had before, that we no longer have, they have no fucking clue.

If you want to witness racism at its most violent and bloody then visit Africa. Perception vs Experience: we only know racism when we see or hear it.

It is very interesting to watch the reactions as people try to explain away OBJECTIVE data....

A poll is based on OPINIONS and is by its very nature subjective.

Polls can be flawed, skewed, influenced by a lot of factors.
But believe what you want - even if it isn't the truth.

Is America Now A Post-Racial Society?
Many believed that the election of Barack Obama brought to a close the long, painful, and ugly history of race and racism in the United States. . . . UW :: WISER
The election of Barack Obama was like picking at a festering scab - feels real good to some of us, but reveals a whole lot of ugliness below the surface.

The whole premise is ridiculous. It wouldn't matter if tea party people were racist as thier protest isn't about race
Dress it up however you want, but for many of them that is exactly what it is about, and the study confirms it. Do you honestly think they're going to come out and make it obvious? Even for those who may not openly or even consciously list the president's race as their number one objection, you can't tell me it isn't a significant factor. I live among them, and I know what ugliness is 'below the surface'.

yes the white devils of racisim, a horrid bunch. once all the whites are gone we can all pick flowers and love each other. We should take notes from the afgans, iranians, vensezuelans, mexicans, somalians, chinese, etc. what a load of shit!
Yes, your post - like all your posts - is once again a stinking load of shit. You could hardly be more transparent in revealing yourself to be a racist bigot. Who even needs a mirror?
What do you have against "vensezuelans" [sic]? Just curious.

It's one thing to ask a person something, and they give you whatever answer they give. That's rhetoric and can only be judged to a point... It's quite another issue to witness a person committing a specific act, or witness them cheering on the specific acts of others... At that point, one is not tabulating the opinions of the subjects, one is witnessing and recording the actions of the subjects.

Pull the race card.... epic.
How can it be pulling the 'race card', when it is by definition a study of racial attitudes from an institution whose mission is studying matters of race, ethnicity and sexuality? Explain please.

Here's some more about the study from UofW: uwnews.org | Survey

"The survey found that 30 percent of respondents had never heard of the tea party, but among those who had, 32 percent strongly approved of it. In that group, 56 percent of Republicans strongly approved, 31 percent of independents strongly approved and 5 percent of Democrats strongly approved.
Among whites who approved, 35 percent said they believe blacks to be hardworking, 45 percent said they believe them intelligent and 41 percent said they believe them trustworthy."

Okay Nick de Sixes, don't be tellin us anymore about all those Democrat Teabaggers now, y'hear?
