Wow shocker! It's basically what you already know. Sounds like typical Republican stereotype.

NYTimes Poll and Article (see sidebar Multimedia for complete results)

The 18 percent of Americans who identify themselves as Tea Party supporters tend to be Republican, white, male, married and older than 45.

Are you more likely to trust information from ...
Other supporters, 45%
tv/newspapers 37%
Gossip is ALWAYS right you know:rolleyes: No wonder they are regarded as lunatic fringe.

32% of Teapartiers vs 18% of general respondents say they are retired. Oh yeah no socialism but keep your hands off my Social Security and Medicare! Let's start means testing or stopping the automatic cost-of-living-adjustment. Or could just go total right wing and stop Soc. Sec. and Medicare altogether. Let's try that and see how hard they will be crying.

How out of touch are they?
Believe they reflect the views of most Americans 84% vs 25% of the general respondents.

Aren't these people just whiney, rich, old, white people squealing like grumpy old men who need a diaper change?

I love how hypocritical Democrats are. They claim to be "open-minded", but only when it involves being gay, black, and vegetarian.

They hate all straight, white, Christian men.

How is that open-mindedness?

I'm a gay conservative, and you don't see me whining about people not being tolerant of me, do you? Discrimination is simply human nature. Politics has nothing to do with it.

Okay dude, you've carried this same ignorant drivel into three threads in ten minutes. I don't label myself a liberal, though you probably would, because you are only capable of seeing black and white. I am politically very progressive on most social issues, I believe in fiscal responsibility, and I am deeply patriotic. I eat meat, I couldn't care less about anyone's race or national origin, President included. I have friends who are gay, straight, bi, male, female, liberal, conservative, Christian, Jewish, aethiest, agnostic, pagan, wiccan, etc. etc.

Do you not see that ironically it is you who is close-minded with your ridiculous polarizing stereotypes? Seriously, what are you grinding there, Axman? Is your middle name Hyperbole?

You're ridiculous. And you're trolling.

Some other stats worth noting...

84% of the teabaggers believe their views reflect those of most Americans, but less than 25% of America agrees. (now that's what I call out of touch!)

18% of Americans say they are tea party supporters.
66% of tea party supporters say they usually or always vote Republican. (Just 5% vote Democratic.)
73% say they are conservative.
59% believe Barack Obama was born outside of the United States, or aren't sure.
89% are white
83% over the age of 41
57% over the age of 55
59% have a favorable view of Glenn Beck (Among all Americans, just 18% have a favorable view.)
63% say they get most of their news from Fox News Channel.
66% have a favorable view of Sarah Palin, compared to 12% who view her unfavorably. (Among all Americans, just 30% view her favorably)
24% believe citizens can be justified in taking violent action against the government.

Being an ignorant Brit I am assuming teaparty is a euphemism for Republicans. Please do correct me if I am wrong. It is silly to make sweeping statements based on your sexuality and party political allegiences. There is a gay American restraunteur in Soho (big wig in the US Republican cause in London) who advocated that the London Fire Service should hose down "down and outs" on the pavements of Soho. To me that is fascism not conservativism.

As for the NYT and a few others don't believe everything you read. They were probably talking about the few the few behind the scenes guys financing the sign carrying masses.

No, you tend to find what you go looking for.

First of all, it's a joint CBS/NYT poll, hardly a hotbed of extreme liberal bias.

Secondly, it bears out the patterns of previous polls.

Maybe you can find a poll from one of your right-wing bloggers or Faux News for counterbalance.

Need we cay more?

Sergeant. Many Tea Partiers would tell you that they are upset withe Republicans too. Many were not happy with GW Bush's presidency -0 particularly the second one.

One of the problems in the two party system we have is there is no viable third party to go to. A Ross Perot candiacy proved that a third party can simply kill the dem or repub canidate and not be electable.

I'm for voting out all current repubs (ssave a few) and all current dems (sove a very very few) and starting fresh.

Actually: yes, I do see you "whining about people not being tolerant of" you. Check out the first half of the post quoted above for any further clarification.

Oh, and welcome to my Ignore list. You're in good company

You're an Uncle Tom, hoping that by attacking "liberals" and gay Democrats, that you can curry some favor with the straight majority. Guess what? They STILL hate you.

Actually, yes, i do. Right here, you're doing it. You're whining about Liberals not being tolerant of you, even when you're claiming not to be whining. Is there a point to all of this finger pointing?

Sergeant. Many Tea Partiers would tell you that they are upset withe Republicans too. Many were not happy with GW Bush's presidency -0 particularly the second one.
Yet the teabaggers almost exclusively support hard right conservative candidates that are even more radical and out of touch than Dubya was.

One of the problems in the two party system we have is there is no viable third party to go to. A Ross Perot candiacy proved that a third party can simply kill the dem or repub canidate and not be electable.
Which is exactly what the Reps are doing to their party again. The teabaggers have split the Republican electorate, not the Dems.

I'm for voting out all current repubs (ssave a few) and all current dems (sove a very very few) and starting fresh.
So, whats your plan for voting in the actual election?
