That's the one..........as soon as I hear the music I have to change the channel......And you're right, it's the look in the animals eyes that kills me.

damn you for reminding me of it...:frown1:

it was just on a few days ago...it stays with me for a couple of days...

you look in their eyes, and it is a combination of emotions we completely share...sadness, despair, disbelief, and almost shame, that they have been reduced to such abuse, stripped of the dignity of a living creature...a lack of understanding of it, but just pain, desperate need.

that innocence and naivety can be utterly destroyed, trust can be damaged or lost forever, that every human is an enemy to be feared...

i cannot even bear it...i could write a dissertation on that commercial, and i would probably be sobbing the entire time...

now i am miserable.

The only film that has ever made me cry was "The Inn of the Sixth Happiness" with Ingrid Bergman. I was absolutely streaming. LOL

It's the scene with Robert Donat and Ingrid Bergman when he tells her that he's become a Christian and then says goodbye, isn't it?

Robert Donat's finest moment (among many) on screen. He nailed that scene perfectly.

Oddly enough, the only film I've wanted to cry in was King Kong - I thought it was really sad. :( I was with mates tho, so I didn't, lol.

Also sad:
Schindler's List - where the little girl in the red coat dies.
Braveheart - when William's gf is killed.

[PS: Disco - English Patient is a great film! - really amazing scenery.]

Stella Dallas is great if you need a good cry: guaranteed.

I recently saw Pan's Labyrinth, and that was a shockingly good weeper (I know, I'm backlogged on my movies): the ending was a complete surprise and devastating.
And if you want a good laugh go to the Bette Midler re-make of Stella Dallas. It's so bad it's tragically funny.

For me it's the final scene of Field of Dreams. My dad died when I was young as was a baseball player in the Minor Leaues. When the ghost of a father asks Kevin Costner if he'd like to play catch.......I lose it.

I don't know that any movie actually pulled tears out of me, but I can think of a few that have some of those really powerful moments:

Schindler's List - The first time I watched the ending and realized what I was seeing, I was just floored.

Armageddon - Yes, totally cheesedick film...but the final sacrifice was pretty powerful.

A Mighty Heart - You know it's coming, but Angie's reaction to receiving news of her husband's death is gut-wrenching.

Gladiator - A couple of scenes in this one are pretty potent

La Vita è Bella - Really needs no explanation.

The only movie that stands out in my mind that really made me cry was AI: Artificial Intelligence. That movie was pure agony for me. The boy (Haley Joel Osment) looks like my son, and he goes through 2 hours of agony trying to get his "mommy" to love him. It's pure torture for a mother to see this little boy wandering around scared and alone, and all he wants is his mommy. OMG I cried through the whole darn movie. I would never see that one again! 5 hankies!

im more a music buff than a film buff. although ill admit that is a howler. i dont wanna throw this thread off, but what about songs/albums that make you cry?

Noah and the whale- the first days of spring, got me. although i did have a break up like a week before.

whats the film about a comet? something impact, with morgan freeman as the presidant. the end when the daughter and father are standing at the beach as the wave appraches is quite sad.

Deep Impact, I always thought it was a better title for porn!

thats the one. took me years to watch it though. i was always a paranoid child and after hearing about scientists saying stuff like we will be hit in 2015, anything that reminded me would get me scared.
