So there is this rumor that Ted Cruz is considering a presidential run in 2016. Anyone else heard about this? I've been seeing this pop up several times now. Google it. You will see it on sources from Mother Jones to The Blaze.

I don't see why this is even a topic of consideration. He's not even eligible to run. He may be a Texas Senator, but he was born in Calgery. As any birther will tell you, you can't be president if you were born outside the US. It's not stopping far right conservatives from talking gleefully about the idea of Cruz running though.

Hmmmm, wonder if the Republicans would try to push through an amendment eliminating the must be born here requirement for any presidential candidate.........like they had talked about for Arnold after he won California several years back.

LOL... ignoring the fact that he's not a "naturalized" anything. American from birth. (I'm in the same boat as Cruz, with an FS-240 Dept of State consular report of American birth abroad as my birth certificate.)

Apparently the GOP might benefit from optional Cruz Control.

Ted Cruz is Becoming a Big Problem For the Republican Party

What do you think the chances are that the country will elect another Texan so soon after the last disaster? Even if he says he is Canadian.

The whole idea is DOA. He wasn't born in the US. He can't be president. His parents citizenship doesn't matter. You have to be born here. He was not. End of presidential aspirations.

Ted Cruz is prohibited from serving as president of the US by constitutional law. He is merely a boil on the butt of the GOP. couldn't happen to more deserving bunch of putzes.

Why not? We've got a Kenyan in the office now! At least Canadian sensibilities are more compatible with our own.

Hey, you knew it was coming... :D

In all seriousness, I want the Constitution to be followed. The requirements for holding the Presidency are few and specific, 35 years of age, 14 years of residence, and natural born US citizen. It's that simple. If he qualifies, and wants to run, then that is his right. If he does not qualify, then the discussion is over.

And, just for reference, the whole "Obama is black, so it must be racism" schtick is wearing thin. It *is* possible to disagree with someone, or even dislike them, without their skin color being the issue.

No it's not Redneck! As Conservatives, we have to take a test certifying that we hate all non-white, Christian males!

Right?

Really, and which constitutional law are you citing? His citizenship is already acknowledged, he's a U.S. citizen by birth. He is 42 years of age, so he is old enough.

The only thing that would allow a Tea Partisan to win the White House is a Democrat Party that has usurped the traditional role of the Republican Party as a center-right pro-business operation which would alienate the Democrat base and depress turnout as happened in 2010 post-Baucus' Heritage Foundation solution of nixing of the public option in favor of the individual Mandate.

Of course, on almost all of the issues, the elected Democrats and Republicans agree wholeheartedly. There is no real difference between the two, hell, Obama is worse than Bush on all of the important issues that matter.

I guess that depends on what issues matter to you.

Give me a fucking break, the birther movement was all about Obama being black. Nothing was said about McCain being from Panama

I realize that not all conservatives hate non-white, non-hetero, non-Christian males....but the majority certainly are in favor of white hetero Christian men
