I have lost sadly a few friends to brain tumors and no way they could give the speech that Ted Kennedy gave in support of Obama. It gave me goose bumps to see an old warhorse like Teddy stump as powerfully as he did for what he believes in.

I may not agree with much of his positions but my hat is off to him. That was a historic speech from a man who has been in office for 45 years. What a terrific start to the Democratic convention.

Yes, Teddy did not disappoint. He has always been known for his convention speeches and this one will be one we remember.

I am sure there wasnt a dry eye on the convention floor or in front of the tv. God bless him. That family has had more than its share of tragedy but he was so strong tonight. It was great to see him. I do pray that he can make it to January as he so hopes.

You are so right. I hope that Ted Kennedy lives at least to see Obama elected if not to service in the Senate.

I have an even bigger hope that access to universal health care for all that Ted has championed all these many years will happen while Ted is still active in the United States Senate.

It was obvious in Caroline's introduction that Ted Kennedy has been the glue that has held the Kennedy family together now for several decades.

Third longest serving Senator in United States Senate, what a legacy.

America has been blessed having Ted Kennedy as a Senator.

I was exceptionally moved by Senator Kennedy and the words he spoke.

A great man needs to be able to admit his failures. Kennedy has yet to do so. In my book he's still a murderer.

exactly..

i never wish bad on ANYONE in this world, its horrible to see anyone with a disease and suffering, no one deserves that, i admire him, and wish him and his family the best...
but i think everyone is forgetting about his past...

Knowing glioblastoma intimately, it was inspiring to see him up there, speaking for what he believed in and not asking pardons for his current disability.

He doesn't have long to live, but anyone with a GBM who saw that would have drawn some level of hope and inspiration, and that is worth quite a bit when you're counting down the days.

... Mark Warner, however, was not. He just spewed a bunch of cliches and sounded like a guy who should be giving inspiriational speeches to Amway salesmen in a Holiday Inn somewhere.

And how does bringing a bunch of IT jobs to an old coal mining town help the people there? More likely it brought a bunch of IT professionals in from out of town, and the coal miners are now making $7 an hour serving those people their lattes.

"Would," is no substitute for reality and the reality is there's one more person dead in this world directly because of his actions. I hope he uses his time left to clear his conscience with the country he allegedly loves.

So in other words it matters not he voted the right way. And now we are even doing a litmus test on his patriotism? Swift boat redux.
