Yes, someone's got to make it, someone with no ambition in life out of the porn industry.

Fair or not, it's taboo, and if people know you were involved with such a thing, they'll pick a "cleaner" candidate.

That's another issue. I was simply addressing that fact that, if you watch porn, then tell someone that he is a loser for being a porn actor, that's a bit hypocritical.

I can tell you for fact that there is a current member of congress (House of Reps -- and an R, at that) who made 8mm film loops while in college. He both "starred" in them and made them while his younger brother was doing the acting. They filmed everything: one brother or the other with a girl, 2 girls, and even 3. Two guys one girl. Solo jerking off in the forest. Being jerked by girls or boys. This happened 30+ years ago, and the film loops have probably all vanished. But to those of us who knew (and still know) these two studly guys, everytime we see the Rep on TV, we snicker and then wonder how the heck he got elected without those films ever being mentioned. I heard the pay for most male porn stars really sucks, I was watching a documentary about midgets once, and they had the worlds most famous (male) midget pornstar (can't remember his name) and even he spent his time between shoots putting DVDs in boxes to make a little extra cash.

i believe the accepted term is actually "little people"...which to me is more offensive than "midget", but whatever.

and obviously a guy will make less, because the odds are that there are more guys that are wanting to get into porn than girls...and i dont mean to make a sweeping generalization, but i sorta have to...its basically just supply & demand...i'm sure there are more guys that want to get into porn than are actually needed...if you brought jenna jameson into a room of straight guys & said "ok, who wants to fuck her?" i would guess 99% would raise their hand...hell some guys would offer to pay for the chance, rather than get paid...

I know someone who was in the business in the 80's "Class Reunion,Winner takes all",amongst others and his first gig paid him 3500 dollars and it wasn't these movie. At least thats what he told me. He got a car with his first movie.
Surprisingly he is HIV neg, I know at least 2 actors dead in "Winner" from AIDS, most notably Lee RYder. Unfortunatley not all porn actor are this lucky.
