Telemarketers and Junk Mail

For email, I set junk mail filter to on. Everything not on my safe list goes there. The ones I recognize I move to inbox. The rest I trash without even opening them.

Home phone we never answer unless we recognize the number. The rest goes to answerer, though they rarely leave a message.

For my android, two words: Mr. Number.

I love it when telemarketers call! (assuming I have time to kill)

I'll listen to their pitch and when they're done, I proceed to inform them that I'm on the "Do Not Call" list, and specifically, the special section of that list that if a telemarketer calls, and I listen to their pitch, they agree to pay me $50 just for listening. And then I ask when can I expect the $50?

More than a few get flustered and put their "supervisor" on the line who proceeds to do the same thing. I tell him the same thing and that since I've listened to it twice, that's another $50. They take me off the list really quick!

A friend of mine takes it a little further. Upon answering the phone and finding out it's a telemarketer, she let's out a blood-curdling scream, yells GET BACK IN YER CELL!! PUT THAT GUN DOWN!! Then says frantically; "Hello, police??"

It's so much fun to mess with them!

I always ignore those calls if they come from number I don't recognize. They keep calling using different numbers, but at least I don't have to talk to them. I just read an article at http://www.whycall.me/news/my-4500-payday-from-a-telemarketer/ about someone who filed a lawsuit against a company who called her multiple times. I think I will do that someday, when I have time
