To All:

The Moderator Team has been busy updating the Terms of Service. We first began a revision before Zora retired. We intermiteently worked on it while dealing with lots of board changes and server adjustments and updated what Zora had begun. We finished a draft last month and wanted to wait until the new Moderator Team was selected and they had a chance to give input and revisions before we posted the ToS. Finally, we have completed the task. Whew.

We now have an updated ToS that we hope is clearer and lays the groudwork for LSPG to start 2007 with a bang!

You mean that you had to edit the word 'fucktards' out of every sentence of her draft?

Seriously, the new Terms Of Service look great, and are far clearer and more comprehensive than the previous TOS (obviously drawing on the experiences of the past few months)... they outline precisely what needs to be said, so that people are aware of the very few rules of conduct that they need to follow here, and in no way would I argue that those guidelines seem in any way overbearing or heavy-handed; quite the opposite, in fact.

I'm especially pleased to see the gallery flagged up by name as being subject to the conditions of the TOS, as the amount of out-and-out bullshit in there recently has been unparalleled in my time at the site, with at least four members' galleries in the past three days composed entirely of (well-known) porn images that they were attempting to pass off as themselves (only one of those four galleries now remains, thankfully). While posting porn pics or images of others in there WHICH ARE CLEARLY MARKED AS SUCH should probably not be an issue, people passing off such images as themselves in order to 'fuck' with and mislead others... clearly is an issue, imho.

Only one thing stands out to me as being absent, though; which concerns LPSG's previously-stated position on pedophilia... and I wonder whether something might be added in relation to the 'over 18s only' section which states that the positive promotion of pedophilia remains wholly unacceptable at the site?

But excellent work from the Mods, and a huge 'thumbs up' from me. :smile:

I think the terms are very clear & well thought out. The revision covers some ground that the previous version did not, and I hope these clarifications achieve their intended purpose -- to keep this forum a fun, interesting place that respects each member's individuality.

Now I sound like the student in the class who's trying to get an A by brown-nosing the teacher... Oh well.

Great job Moderators. Now, if there were only a way to get every member who joins to actually read the terms of service.... :wink:

Now the ugly truth is out .Mme Z left us prematurely to go into rehab to work on her TOS Tourettes. The stress of writing them and being harrassed by parties who shall remain unnamed caused her to spontaneously break into her trademark words at inappropriate times.We dont yet know if the disorder is curable but I believe now that the stress is off she is able to cope a bit better...

While I drafted the first tos, the entire moderating team added/deleted things, and it was truly a group effort on the part of every one of us, including Rob_E. This New and Improved version is very well rounded, and addresses several points that should lead to a clearer understanding of what goes on here. Hopefully, it will continue to be a work in progress so that lpsg can continue on as a site we all come to feel a sense of ownership toward.

I am impressed with the discussion of abusive members, as it defines more clearly what is meant, so hopefully FUCKTARDS won't start claiming abuse because of a few words or sentences- abuse is an ongoing effort on the part of one member which has detrimental impact on the board as a whole.

As it always has been, I hope lpsg will remain free for discussions, even very heated ones, without continued personal attacks of a nature that do not foster discussion.

Alex8, I think it would be tough to eliminate all possibilities of unwanted discussions in the tos, as it could easily turn into a dictionary. Some things about appropriateness just have to be learned through time and membership. While it isn't always received as such, it is actually a kindness for us older members to help the newer ones get acclimated here- it takes a village. People need to be able to discuss their experiences with paedophilia if it happened to them, but we all know where the line is, right? We've never had any problem stomping out trolls before!

I do agree that what is really outstanding about the new TOS is their clarity, without them stopping to detail every single possible transgression and permutations thereof.

"Discouraged" and "not allowed" are two different things.

1. You were a member here a while back, came back to rejoin, and didn't remember the original screen name, and had to create a new name.

2. You changed your name because of a stalker.

3. We moved servers and you had to reregister.

HOWEVER, you can only have one screen name in use at a time. Don't post from multiple accounts you might have. Pick one and stick to it. If you want to switch to another one, let Rob_E or one of the mods know.

I guess that's where I'm coming from too. I get the reasons that you listed in the first part, but I think this second part should be stated, in place of the "discouraged" statement. "Discouraged" makes me think that it's just a suggestion, more of a "we don't like it, but it's OK", instead of a firm "one at a time ONLY" statement. If there was a legit reason why you had to create a second account, then there should be no reason for the first account to continue being accessed, and tripping the duplicate IP alarm (Is there a way to lock/freeze/close, but not delete, an account, short of banning it, when someone notifies that an account is no longer in use?).

I just want to understand about this situation going on...why not say there is not allowed and period, to make other accounts and have other personalities.

And it did intrigue me at first when I notice thats going on.. how come members that are 'regular' here come up with this behaviour that for me is very silly at least in some playing that.

I have another account here, some of the mods know it, and I know you two know it, because I told you.

I can't tell you how many times since I decided to abandon the old ship I've sat down at a computer I don't often use, wondered what was going on at LPSG, and found myself logged in under my old name! Worse, I posted under it at least three times without noticing until I saw my posts posted. I had to go back, delete the content (since I don't think we still have te ability to delete posts- or at least, I don't) and pretend it never happened.

Under the suggestions you make, I would be banned for my little accidents. I am not a troll by any definition. The only thing new here is my name. I'm the same snarky jerk I always was posting in the boards. My old account will delete itself, after a sufficient period of disuse, and that is good enough. When I stop being a dork, and signing in under the wrong name, that account will go the way of the do-do.

Moderators:I do have a question:

In the new TOS, you mention that you will reserve the right not to delete galleries when former participants are leaving. Does that mean they will no longer be able to delete their galleries themselves?

Actually, I forgot about that situation, but I think that it's a good reason that these things need to be clarified.

HOWEVER, I'm not making any suggestions, beyond, couldn't the "old" account somehow be locked. The other statements were made by Lex and prepstud, and quite emphatically. So, I DO think that things need to be clarified. And no, I've never labeled you a troll, so I dunno how that came into play either.
