Check out this site for really good info! Scroll thru various topic choices including self-exams and symptoms of various "male probs". It's good reading.

www.urologyedinburgh.co.uk

You'll find out many "lumps" turn out .....to be nothing to worry about.
But if you're in doubt, get checked out. It won't hurt to know for sure.

It's an easy check...kinda' fun too. At least once a month, when you are in the shower and your sac is relaxed, feel your testicles with your fingers. Check for lumps, swelling or any changes. If there are, whether they hurt or not, get in to see your urologist immediately! They will get you in for an exam in a hurry when you tell them why. The Dr. just does a physical exam and goes from there. Take it from someone going through the whole mess and who may just dodge the whole testicular cancer, lose a nut or two situation. Don't ignore it. When caught early, testicular cancer is just about the easiest of all to cure.

I've had the ultrasound, etc. and will be going in for biopsy or minor surgery to repair a tumor created by a torsion injury, which the Dr. thinks happened many years ago and is just now creating problems. Odds are, it isn't cancer, now, but could develop. whew. I like my balls.

I know you do like your balls, KinkGuy, and take my word for it, they have lots of other fans, too.

I'm hoping all goes well, man, and those big ones stay right where they belong. :)

CAPTIN ! --If what you say is true, realize what you have going for you!
Your very own mother is an expert in the field of need! And... her colleagues!
And, you can forget the embarrassment stuff as your MD team will REALLY have your best interest at heart! THEY WILL WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE VERY BEST OF CARE ! If anything, they will be very emphathetic of all your dreading of "being checked-out" too. They will likely.... APPLAUD you for your courage!

So, don't delay. Make that appointment ASAP.

Keep in mind, your symptoms may very well NOT be the "big C" ---at all.

do keep in mind- different forms of cancer grow at different rates- some are VERY fast... and some can be located anywhere...

If you suspect it, get it checked at once!

Also- the tubes at the top of the sac have curls and 'knots' that may resemble lumps... heres hoping you're doing OK, and will be certain of it soon!

So.......back from vacation Sunday, went in Tuesday for what the Dr. described as the "minor corrective procedure." Minor my ass!, maybe compared to open heart surgery! From the previous ultrasound they determined that my problem was a tumor resulting from a torsion injury, which could have been years old. So, they "went in" to a)remove the tumor/cyst/lump and B)"straighten" out the cords. The "whatever" is off for biopsy, but Dr. said it looked benign??? Being wide awake for all this fun is no fun. They sutured my groin and sac, gave me 4 pain pills and sent me home. In and out, so to speak in 3 hours, with the parting advice that I might need an ice pack. No shit. But, it looks like the boys are going to get to hang around a while longer.....if they ever hang again...talk about your major shrinkage! Wasn't all that horrible if you enjoy feeling of being kicked in the balls, over and over and over and over and over.........and over.

TMI wasn't it?

The up side? I would gladly endure it all over again to keep the boys happy and in good working order. Guys, don't ignore ANY changes in the equipment!

Kink Guy--I have been dealing with a dull ache in my left testicle for 6 weeks now. I was really worried and went to see my doctor yesterday. He examined me and determined that I had epididimitis (an inflammation casued by nothing in particular). He has prescribed some anit-biotics and anit-inflammatories for me and wants me to follow up with a urologist. I suggest going to see your doctor. his ability to check for lumps will give you much more relief than your own. Trust me, I tried.

Well, you'll know if you had a torsion injury. Trust me. There's lots of abdominal pain as well, not to mention vomiting. And if your scrotum's light, it turns red.

Did you read my post Lex? I just went through surgery to fix it all. Believe me, the Dr. has seen plenty of me. And jonb, the tumor was the result of what the Dr. suspected to be a torsion injury years ago and developed over the years from the damage.

Kink, I think your balls are quite cute and cuddly looking and would hate to see anything bad happen to you or them.
