I love Hickboy. He can make laugh so easily. Been thinking about what I wrote yesterday and I realize I blocked a memory. In the past two years I've had to shut down two relationships and texting had a role in both cases. Had two nearly back to back experiences with casual acquaintances, nothing sexual, just friends. Everything seemed okay then I started to recieve several text messages several times a day about their relationship issues. The texts were sometimes several screens long. Which seemed strange, but I thought I could help them so I'd call or text them. Seems like they always preferred to text. I started to feel like like I was getting sucked into their obsession when we'd talk or text and they would not allow me to ask questions, they'd just ramble and repeat themselves, on and on. Sometimes their texts would be written in all capital letters. Other friends I mentioned this to said they'd also recieved odd text messages, voicemail, whatever from this person. Bottom line talking in person, phoning, texting, didn't matter I wasn't able to communicate with them, but the text messages really helped me understand what I was dealing with.

Nothing would make me happier than Rob providing an LPSG phone line (recorded obviously, so there was a record of what was going on!) so that I could take calls and discuss issues without having to PM back and forth, or wait for replies to threads, just to work out what the hell the member is banging on about.
I found myself having to give one member my phone number because neither one of us seemed to be able to discuss a particular issue via PM. I couldn't understand what was at the route of his displeasure, I couldn't understand what he didn't understand about what I was saying.
It was a sorry mess, but the second we got on the phone, everything was so much better.
I've no real objection to texting, but if there are other options available, I'll take those.
