I read ads every so often looking for a TG/TS. It seems like the genuine ones are always a bottom. I'm a guy looking for a top TG/TS or at least versatile. Am I asking for too much? Is it wrong to think I might meet what I'm looking for? Are the odds slimmer than I realize?
I can't speak for all of us, but as a non-op transwoman, here is my position on this: while I enjoy being fondled & orally pleased, taking the "masculine" role in intercourse doesn't appeal to me because I don't identify myself in a masculine way at all. My guess is that most tg/ts probably feel similarly, but there are always exceptions to the rule. In my experience, most of the men I've been with wanted me to top them. I see personal ads on various websites from men who say they are looking for a tg/ts to top them, but I would wager that many of these men just don't know quite how tg/ts differ from a cd in the sexual arena. Where a cd may just as well be any heteroflexible cisgender man who just wears women's clothes for kink, transwomen live & identify as women and dressing as such is just a normal daily part of life. My short answer (I know, too late for that!) is that I would say that most of us have little to no interest in topping.

It has been my experience that the bottom only trans have small dicks, the verses that love to be a top and bottom are usually hung big. If I'm wrong then let me know.
In general I think I would have to agree with you. Of course, more than a few TS escorts will be happy to top any man. But if we are talking TS women not in that life style, than I'd have to agree--that's my perception.
I did date a TS woman for nearly a year (not an escort). It was a very positive experience. She was versatile and often enjoyed topping me....which I learned to love. She was a fantastic lover. To one of your point--neither of us felt that the act of her topping was "masculine" per se. just too much generalization/stereotyping in this for me. my experience has been all over the board. what i have found is that the gals that are top only, usually relent and enjoy being topped once they get to know you. i had one jackhammer top who was only about 5 inches, but boy did she know how to use it. sienna grace is bottom only and she is nicely hung.
