I hope that in the middle of the chaos of COVID 19 that persons around the world take the time to show appreciation and support for healthcare workers who are putting their lives on the line to save lives and to keep our communities safe and as healthy as possible.
This pandemic is new territory for our workforce, but they are often working without adequate protection, shortages of supplies and spending extra hours away from their loved ones while worrying that they may take the virus home to the ones that they love.
My partner, who is a heart surgeon, doesn’t get to put off surgeries, because the surgeries are life saving and needed immediately. Today, a family cursed him because he could not allow any of them to momentarily see their loved one who had just come out of surgery and was at high risk for COVID19. That was the third angry encounter with a family in 4 days.
Thank goodness we have been blessed with talented and dedicated healthcare workers around the world who are putting their lives on the line everyday.
I hope you all stay safe in the midst of this novel virus and that you will take a moment to show your gratitude to healthcare workers and the public health workforce who are true heroes in my eyes.

Thanks is a start to the extreme gratitude that should be expressed to our local and national health care heroes who have stepped up, are going above and beyond, and are making America safer. Between them and many mayors and governors who are also working in behalf of their constituents, they form the last line of defense. We are fortunate to have them. We need to do our part, be responsible, and keep them safe.

Well said @ohiorod Without them and their putting their lives on the line the world would be in a bad way at the moment. We should also take time to thank the grocery workers and pharmacy workers for their hard work to keep food and drugs available for us to buy. They are risking becoming infected with the virus as some have in Oregon and Washington state.
