Hi
I just got back from four nights in New York and had to say how awesome that city is. I've spent a while in London, but it sucks compared to New York - the people, the places, the shops...it's great.
I went up the Empire State Building in daytime when it was clear and that was great, then I went to the Top of the Rock at night to see the city lit up - again, it was utterly amazing. Among other things I: saw the Statue o Liberty, Ground Zero, Central Park, Museum of Natural History, Greenwich Village (unfortunately that was bad because a construction worker fell and died minutes before we got there), Wall Street, Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square, Macys, Grand Central, Dakota Building, Strawberry Fields, loadsa shops, Battery Park and plenty more...
I'm depressed to have left. I stayed at the intercontinental on east 48th and that was amazing. The area was great. I met a few characters, ate some great food, had some good times and took some good pics.
Just wanted to say a BIIIIIIIIIIIG thank you to NJQT466, northland, mem0101, FLASHY, jason els, headbang8 and anyone who took the time to help me out.
It was a memorable experience to say the least, and I know I'll be going again some time soon (when it's warmer though, my hands nearly froze off on the Rock at night) and I'll keep away from British Airways, that crash landing at Heathrow was right behind me after I landed!
Oh yeah - I FOUND NO FUCKING TWINKIES!!!!! I lookes everywhere, but had no luck. I visited hundreds of deli's and shops asking "do you sell twinkies" and they just looked at me like I was stupid and smirked saying "no". Maybe it's because 'twinky' is a funny word, or maybe it's because I have a funny english accent...
