I want to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving.
In these unprecedented circumstances. I hope you all find joy and love for yourself as well as family and others.

I am going to make myself an Apple Pie(first time ever) from scratch. I am making a 3 bean chilli and fried mashed potatoes..using sweet potatoes. Got this idea from Pinterest. I have been cooking a great deal lately and reading.

What are you all having for Thanksgiving? The usual or something different..
I hope that the current situation doesn't dampen your Holidays.

Wishing all a happy socially distanced and safe Thanksgiving. Here’s hoping that this will be the first and last that requires caution and separation

Small celebration this year. Not going to cancel because we desperately need to find things to give thanks for. Slim pickings this year, but at least there are some.

Daughter and boyfriend are the only invited guests.

Just me and him this year.. I plan on dropping some pie at my parents on the steps, same at his mom's.

We don't usually do much for the holidays anyway. I just go along with it so the people who find it significant don't think I don't care about them. I figure the best way to show them how much I love them this year is to stay away, being someone who has to deal with people face to face and has the whole time. I've only been tested once and was negative, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

A socially distant food-day is how we avoid an ICU Christmas/new year.

Staying home. Doing a semi-schmancy meal. Strictly in my household bubble.

Gonna roast some fall veg in entirely too much garlic. A butternut squash mac and faux-cheese. Pecan Pie cuz it's legit the law.

Got a turkey for the doggos cuz they love turkey.

Calling/Zoom a few older folk and sentimental in my circle who will be alone. Talking trash with my peeps sans pants. Kinda living the dream.

To the folks that made it this far into 2020... Salute, friends.

I will make myself a somewhat normal roast turkey dinner with sage dressing, sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts and toped off with pumpkin pie with whipped toping. I will talk to family on the phone at some time during the day, for me this has been the usual for some years now. I hope all can find some peace, hope and joy on this day. We can hope for a normal joyous celebration next year without any forced separation from loved ones for health reasons.

Going to my folks (it’ll be my household and theirs for a total of 5 people). I’m in charge of fancy drinks, sweet potato/pecan pie, roasted veg medley, mashed taters, yeast rolls, and the gravy. My mom is doing a small turkey and the stuffing. And a green salad per my request and i might make some deviled eggs.

I’m grateful to be able to share like this - I know so many can’t right now. We have our health and I’m thankful for my parents. 2020 is a year most of us won’t forget. In the future, when memory gets jostled and I look back, I’ll remember all the little things that made this year worth it - our puppy, spending more family time together, baking cookies, realizing what we’re made of. It’s the little things that I’m grateful for.

I will be alone this year; but happily ensconced in my safe, socially distanced bubble of a Thanksgiving solo-bration...and I am perfectly fine with that. If I get through the holiday without a crisis happening, it will really be a cause to celebrate. (There's a history of everything-you-don’t-want-to-happen happening, and that yearly onset at the start of November of foreboding dread for what might be on the way!) Staying positive. I think we’re good this year.:D I decided I’m going to do my favorite day-after tradition and make turkey chowder just for me the-day-of—and, beyond that, do whatever I darn well please. Movies, joy riding, anything I want. Everyone in my world seems to be doing well, remaining healthy, are happy and safe—which is amazing seeing as I am in the midst of hot mess of Covid—and, to that end, I’m still amongst the quick; and, more importantly, not a turkey. I think that’s far more than enough for one person to be blessed with and to be thankful for.

Wishing all a happy holiday.:)

Actually sounds awesome, @chicagosam. Won’t be with the offspring this year, which sucks. I’ll be with madre, who doesn’t want to travel, and rightfully so. Just might use the kid-free option to sample and splurge on the best booze I can get my hands on, beginning with breakfast stouts. Gonna try and make it an all day affair, if I can make it that far. Oh, and I’ll eat a little, too.
