My thoughts were along those of dolfette's first post. Is there any chance you were miscarrying?

In defence of male doctors I have to say I prefer them. Perhaps I have been unlucky with my female docs but the female docs (GPs and ob/gyn) have been far less sympathetic and patient with me than the men.

Blood and urine test showed negative. Was not pregnant at all. Blood results did show hormone levels to be all over the map (higher / lower tha what should be "normal") It is likely stress that has thrown my body out of whack this month - break up, money, Christmas, work.

And my doctor said aside from stress, I could be suffering from PMDD( but not my official diagnosis as I need to monitor the next couple cycles to see how I react.

I guess when it comes to male / female doctors, it depends on the person.

My dear, I have been having suicidal moods like that ONLY premenses for the last few years, ever since the menopause fairies started visiting. It is not out of the ballpark to feel like that from big surges of hormones. I just have to tuck myself in and let myself cry because I know deep down that it has absolutely nothing to do with anything but being off balance in my chemistry. Like bad weather it just has to spend itself.

Since I have been suicidal in my life it does not alarm me so much as it might some other who has nothing to compare it to.

As for passing such a big clot, sometimes there is a backlog of stuff to be shed that has been insufficiently shed other months. It may not have been an actual pregnancy expelled. But it it could have been a tumor like one of my co-workers expelled, better out than in!
