Are the candidtates in the US show quite as useless as those in the UK version?

Big mouths, small brains.

As a fan of both shows, the US candidates on the whole are a "smarter" bunch, this is a gross generalisation however!

Its shameful to watch the supposed best business minds in the UK screw up the most basic of tasks!

I think in the first series they used the angle that it was 'the best in business' up against each other. But by now they know that the public wouldnt swallow that.

Any successful business person would not be interested in going on the show, its generally sales people with a high opinion of themselves on the show.

I think most on the show are not even successful in their own fields.

I totally agree, I think they are now looking for people who will play up to the camera. I think its great that at the start of the show the voiceover proclaims them to be the 'tycoons of tomorrow' - as if!

My thinking is that the prize is £100,000 salary, if you are an exceptional business person you will most likely be making near to that if not more already. It's a really addictive show however, I always Sky+ it!

Good comments in this thread. I used to be a fan of the show, but not this year.

I came to the conclusion that many of the contestants were probably successful in the situations they had made for themselves in the world. However, they were still too young to handle both the arbitrary team makeups and the arbitrary assignments that were thrown at them on the show.

Most of them never seemed aware of their weaknesses or how to handle the room full of egos. And the one's who had the confidence to take charge never seemed to be the ones with good leadership ability.

I found the show to be entertaining but mostly useless.
