They knew that horse wasn't going to run and win 2 weeks ago when they announced finding the crack in the hoof, ownership has 2/3 of a triple crown breeder now. When Brown didn't come out of the chutes with a chance of winning it, they weren't going to risk having to put him down like they did 8-Belles.
What's more interesting, with Brown with hoof problems, they run this race and the longest shot to win at 39:1 takes it easily/handily ?
well yeah, but he came out of the chute very well and ws in a close third the entire way through the middle of the last turn...so he just didn't have the enegery for the finishing kick he'd shown in the past.
he looked fine the whole way, something was just missing in the end.
who knows...mayb he was thinking of all the fillies he is going to get to bone over the next 30 years
They said Brown is a pretty smart horse, so after winning the first two races, maybe he wanted to get a good look at the fillies from behind to get a good look and sniff at what he may be breeding with in the next few months ?
I was gonna say, maybe that's why he lost today!! He was out late partying and kept getting hit on by all the hot fillies, maybe a little hungover and his head might've still been spinning a bit... he'd turn to the fillies and say, "as a matter of fact, ya know what? I'm hung like a... oh... never mind..."They said Brown is a pretty smart horse, so after winning the first two races, maybe he wanted to get a good look at the fillies from behind to get a good look and sniff at what he may be breeding with in the next few months ?
