WOW, 2000 posts. I spend way too much time here. So much for my New Year's resolution to only spend 1/2 hour a day here.

I will hit 2000 in just 3 more posts and I wanted to celebrate the moment here like I did when I got to 1000 posts.

Anyone else have 2000 posts stories or recollections, or what it means to you to have that many?

I wonder what percentage of the members have reached 2000. Is there a way to find out?

I take breaks, some as long as two weeks. Esp during the Spring and Summer months when I am out and about.

Some of my favorite members/friends are on Yahoo and MSN so we chat there.

I don't really contribute substantially on the threads, sticking to the lighter stuff. I leave the heavy intellectual stuff to those best suited for that kind of thing. Chat was my favorite aspect of the site.

    There is.

From the community tab at the top of page select "members". The default is to show members alphabetically but by clicking on posts members are listed in descending order by post count. You're among the top 170 members by post volume and by my estimate easily in the top 100 by post value.

Congrats and keep up the good work.

Fascinating, the percentage of folks here obsessed with meaningless numeric measurements.

I'm real stupid tonite, dahl ... so don't expect accuracy. What's more, my computer's calculator seems skittish.

    That said:

If you go to Community on the menu bar above and click, you will get Members at the bottom of the menu that comes down.
If you click on Members, you will get a complete list of the membership.
If you click on Posts on the menu bar at the top of the page you'll be looking at, everyone will be listed according to descending number of posts.
The first poster, Imported, is not really a person but an amalgation of all kinds of people who posted back in the Pleistocene Era.
    So ignore Imported.
But if you count down to the last poster who has just over 2,000 posts (and that will be Henry Miller with 2,002), you will find, I believe, a total of 169 posters.
You have to divide into that figure the total number of members.
    This is ambiguous.
On the Members page, when I looked, it showed 418,726 members (a number which will constantly fluctuate a bit, as peeps are banned or join the site).
However, in the box LPSG.org Statistics at the bottom of the main page of the site, it showed 440,965 members.
I don't know why there is this discrepancy, but I went with the latter, higher number.
There is also, in the LPSG.org Statistics box, mention of the Active Members, which showed 48,160 when I checked.
(Remember: This is only a snapshot of the board at the moment I wrote this, just after midnight, EST.)

So you are asking either of two questions:
What percentage of the total membership has reached 2,000 posts?, or
What percentage of the Active Members has reached 2,000 posts.

Of 440,965 total members, 0.0383 percent have reached 2,000 posts.
Of the 48,160 Active Members, 0.351 percent have reached 2,000 posts.

On either score, you are a rare and most admirable bird.

Anyone who wants to check these figures, please do. As I say, my calculator is being a bit dodgey tonight.

I wasn't shitting on anyone, G...just observing. Perhaps the scent wafting from your mouth led you astray?

@ the OP: Congrats, if the number makes you happy.

    Formaldehyde Rubes? Me thinks not.

"Bless your heart" is used when nothing good can be said. It's a southern phrase.

    :biggrin1:

Bless your heart too Rubi

I only joined this year and already have 258 posts (this'll be 259). This site can get pretty addictive!
