After I saw that movie.... I couldn't help knowing that as young as I was when I saw it... i'd have to watch again to get all the humor.

What? No one mentioned Galaxy Quest, the wonderful Star Trek spoof with Tim Allen as the self-centered captain who steals the stage (and chews the scenery) at the sci-fi conventions?

NCbear (who loved watching the ship back out of the docking area, scraping its side the whole way :biggrin1:, and who also loved watching Sigourney Weaver act like a bimbo, which she so obviously isn't )

I love Galaxy Quest. By Grabthor's Hammer, the choppy, crushy thingys scene has me in tears every time because it's so damn true.

Young Frankenstein (I could do a whole thread on favorite quotes)

I found just one line in the whole movie funny enough to make me laugh out loud but it was hysterically funny: "Stay close to the candelabra, the stairs can be trecherous at night."

What are some of the funniest movies you've seen?

I have seen:

THE JERK. BOWFINGER. DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS. THE RETURN OF THE PINK PANTHER.
BLIND DATE. SWITCH. BIG TROUBLE. STUCK ON YOU. ME, MYSELF AND IRENE. THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY. TRAXX. THE WATERBOY. LOW DOWN DIRTY SHAME. BLAZING SADDLES. YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. BIG BUSINESS. THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING WOMAN.
What a great list of movies.

Apologies if someone mentioned these two but I HAVE to give a mention to Stir Crazy and See No Evil, Hear No Evil - two FUCKING FUNNY movies! Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder are a class double act - I love them both individually (Brewster's Millions, Blazing Saddles) but with this pairing I find the whole is greater than the sum of the parts, and that is saying something!

I just IMDBed these movies and I had NO idea that Sidney Poitier directed Stir Crazy - is there no end to that man's talent?

Also - thinking of Blazing Saddles has reminded me of Madeleine Kahn - how wonderful is she! I loved Clue - mostly because of her (and Tim Curry - and them together, actually).
