"Under the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid eligibility will be extended to all individuals with incomes up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level beginning in 2014—$26,347 for a family of three and $15,417 for an individual."

10 Frequently Asked Questions About Medicaid Expansion

I have to ask, what state you do live in?
All I know is what I was told. I called and they said I couldn't apply by phone. They sent out a application to me. I filled it out and sent it back. I received a rejection letter. I called to ask why and that's when they told me I didn't meet requirements for not being disabled or having children.

OK "as of 2019". Don't "BS" me. As I've already said, this happened in 2014. I don't know what it's like now or if it's changed. I'm telling my first hand experience as of 2014.
The democratic party discriminated against me by forcing me to pay for services I would never need as a gay man. End of story.

My outdated quote was from 2013. According to that, you'd still have qualified for the Medicaid expansion. Again, depending on the state you live in--and since that seems to be a carefully guarded secret, I can only assume it's one that didn't do the expansion. But that's the fault of your state government, not the ACA.

EDIT: LOL, sorry, Indie and are tripping over each other to respond.

Not having children or not being disabled do not affect your eligibility as an individual.

Your post specifically says 2019, "BS. If you make less than 12,000 dollars a year, you qualify for medicaid:
As of January 2019, 32 states cover parents and other adults with incomes up to 138% FPL ($29,435 per year for a family of three and $17,236 per year for an individual in 2019) under the ACA Medicaid expansion to low-income adults.

It is the fault of the ACA. Both Anthem and The Market Place told me that's why my plan was no longer available. It didn't meet the requirements of the ACA unless they added a bunch of crap I had no need for. I never had a problem getting insurance in my state until the ACA.

Sigh . . . we were talking about *Medicaid*. If you couldn’t qualify for it, that IS your state's fault. I had no problem in mine.

You're not understanding. I had insurance until the ACA. I was forced to drop it because of the ACA. It's not my state's responsibility to fix the federal government's mess. My state didn't do anything to my insurance.

This happened in 2014. Check the date on my voter registration. I applied as a republican voter immediately after all of that was done and over with because of the ridiculous mess I was put through. This piece of paper allows me to stick it to the party that stole my insurance for the rest of my life and I will continue to do just that! Call it spite or whatever. Lots have and I don't care.

If you have a problem with it, call Anthem and then "The Merket Place". Representatives both places told me the exact same thing!
Are you drunk? Need AA? Addicted to drugs? How else do you excuse such easy spelling errors?

It's easier to believe you didn't understand what you were told.

Right. You can't make too much. I said I was making too little. I was working 2 jobs at the time and still wasn't bringing in the required $1,000 a month. You have to make at least $12,000 a year to be eligible for coverage under the ACA. At least that's how it was in 2014 when I went through all of this.
According to an old recorded phone call I have between Anthem and I, my old monthly premium before the ACA was $143.44. It was going up to $290.45.
If you make that little then you'd qualify for other medical programs.

Next.

My phone made marketplace two words earlier. Is that what you mean? I don't drink or take drugs.

Maybe I do now? I don't know? I have insurance since shortly after Trump took office. Only a premium of $93.65. All I know is what happened in 2014. The post is about the Republican attack on the ACA. All I did was tell my experience from 2014 and why I'm against it.

I had two other people help me try to get insurance. One was an agent in a town about 20 miles from me. He tried for two hours one afternoon with the marketplace. Another was a lady I knew who was a retired lawyer and served two consecutive terms as a DA in one of the largest cities in the U.S. I don't think all three of us misunderstood.

Mental health assistance is available under the ACA. I would advise you to take advantage of it.

The "facts" you listed in your diatribes have been easily disproven. Your photo of your registration shows nothing but a date (not that it has any bearing regardless)

Take your weak attempt to spew your garbage elsewhere. Stay in the easy forums. Pictures seem to be more your speed.

I proved my facts about why my plan was dropped with the links and quotes from healthinsurance.org

I've been real life friends with a mod here for almost 20 years. He knows me very well. He knows I'm not mental. I sent him my phone recording with Anthem. He knows my story is true. I'm not posting my phone conversation because of personal account and address info I had to give. I'm not mentioning names to drag him into it. Think what you want.

Unless your insurance is "employer based", You are getting your insurance through OBAMAcare.

It's through a local agent who came to my house. He said it wasn't ACA when I asked. I can only say what I was told.

I forgot. Mr Trump has allowed the limited sale of "junk insurance" plans. Don't get sick or injured, they don't cover anything.
The Dangers of Trump Administration Junk Insurance Policies
These dangerous new sham health plans roll back the current protections and benefits -- leaving people vulnerable to predatory insurers and drowning in the waters of mounting health care costs.
The Dangers of Trump Administration Junk Insurance Policies

'Junk insurance' is yet another blow to small businesses
These policies are often referred to as “junk insurance” because they are not required to cover essential health benefits like prescription coverage or mental health treatment, meaning they don’t cover much of anything. While this extremely limited coverage normally makes these policies inexpensive on the surface, they typically carry high deductibles.

I'll do my best not to find myself in need of a Gyno exam or pediatric dental work.

Wait until you see the bill you will get if you should need to go to the ER and end up having to have your appendix out.

I do understand. You lost your coverage.

What I'm saying is, under circumstances like yours, I qualified for Medicaid through the ACA expansion. You could have as well, if your state hadn't fucked you over by refusing that expansion.

But you can blame who you want.
