Please lets not have yet another conversation about who is straight and what you can do and still claim to be straight and all that. What I want is some feedback here.

This term, the Corbin fisher effect, has been informally coined by a couple of my teammates and I have heard it being used lately. I can see what they mean. Without websites such as that, would SOME young athletic guys be as comfortable with SOME things as they MAY be.
Obviously a website doesn't have the same effect on everyone, even on all those who watch its content.

Straight or gay, we all love sex of some kind, we need it, we want it, we crave it, we go to great lengths to make it happen as often as possible.
Of course we all seem to fall short of getting enough of it and we turn to ways we learned before that age we can talk about on this site to fill in the gaps. During those times we turn to various methods of enhancing our excitement and increase the results of our solo efforts. One such way is porn of one form or another. It is not always needed, I have beat my meat till It was to sore to touch just reliving past experiences in my head, as have every young horny guy I know. But every guy on my team will admit to fun watching porn more than a few times.

When we turn to porn to excite us, we want it to be something we desire or fantasize about, but also something we could see ourselves in. We want to be able to relate to what we are watching, we want to be able to relate to those participating in what we watch.

For young athletic guys in great shape and in the sexual prime of their lives, the guys on CF and a few other sights like it come closer to reminding us of ourselves than anything else we find searching the vast resources of the internet. Some of our peers have even been solicited to be on sights like that.

My own brother was the first person to show me a video on CF, it was just a guy, not unlike us or our friends, beating off. No big deal, I didn't even put it in the context of porn really. I mean we did it all the time, he had seen me do it, I had seen him do it. As time went on I guess I was a bit surprised at how many guys would admit to watching such sites. At one time last year I did an informal survey and every single guy on our team admitted to having watched at least one video on a site like that.

So the question is, do sites like that make us more comfortable with moving the lines of what we are comfortable with sexually...……..does watching supposed gay for pay, make gay for fun appealing to some?

Everyone is sexually fluid. Straight and gay are just labels.

When it comes to men, they bond through physical contact and this is on a spectrum from non-sexual to sexual. So guys engaging in various sexual acts with their mates is very common, totally normal, yet it's still socially taboo so not discussed very often.

Explainer: what is sexual fluidity?

I don't think porn really influences most people in that way. I think your preferences influence what you enjoy in porn, and for most people that is a changing thing. I know if I watched the same type of porn each time, I wouldn't exactly get bored but it would lose some excitement. But I watch things that will excite me at that moment in time. Sometimes that might be something that would never turn me on at a different point in time, but in the moment its what I want to watch. And sometimes a standard that I always enjoy just doesn't excite me enough for what I'm doing.

I think this is certainly tied to sexual fluidity, and I don't think that sexual fluidity is necessarily restricted to heterosexuality, homosexuality, and everything on the spectrum between the two. It can be related to certain acts that may be of interest at some point in time, and not at other points in time.

But ultimately, the influencing factor is within ourselves and I don't believe it can be attributed to external stimulus such as porn. You either have the propensity to enjoy certain content in porn or you don't, and if the timing is right and aligned with what you want at that moment, the the video you might not consider exciting at one point in time could be extremely exciting in another.

I like that term, and agree with a lot of it. My question is, how does that affect the "I was born this way" theory?

So what if that video you aligned with at some moment becomes something you want to emulate.
But without the video it would never have came into your mind...……………………..

The 'born this way' theory is political and there's no solid science behind it. Sexual fluidity backed by science is gaining more solid ground in the sexuality debate and don't be surprised if LGBTI identity politics in the next decade implodes on itself as a result.

'Born this way'? It's way more complicated than that

I did misspeak a bit. An external influence can uncover a desire, but without the initial propensity for such an act it won't be able to influence you to do something that you weren't already capable of doing. It's the same conceptually as being born gay or straight, just in greater detail.

I think it does make us more comfortable with our own sexuality. When I was in my 20s, vert fit and in my sexual prime, I didn't think about guys sexually the way I do now. I was just interested in tits and pussy. It was around 1998 when I discovered that you could actually view naked images of men online. By that time, I was in my early 30s. I started watching male/gay porn a little then, but now I watch it exclusively. I've still only had sexual relations with women because I'm happily married. If I were single again, this is a side of my sexuality I would absolutely explore. Back in my 20s, it was suicide to admit that you were a little sexually attracted to men, but things have changed for the better now. In that regard, I'm very envious of the younger generation.

I was always a little attracted to men, but only in certain ways. For example, I always found the curve of a guy's ass hot, but seeing anything beyond that (hairy crack, asshole, etc) was gross to me. Now I would dive into that crack and hole face first. I also used to think that guy's dicks were gross. I only ever checked out asses when I was naked in the shower and locker room with other guys. I never wanted to see their dicks let alone touch, play or suck another guy's dick. Now I would love nothing more than to touch, play, suck or be fucked by a hot dick and suck/lick balls. In fact, I now find every part of a guy's body sexy and desirable. I only ever wanted to make out with women in the past, but now I would love to make out with a guy and feel his tongue in my mouth. I always wondered why this change happened in me. I think your theory is probably correct in my case. It wasn't until I started watching gay porn that all of this became hot for me.

I see where you're going with this, and I think it's definitely relevant that people now have much easier access to images of what others are doing, and they may therefore realize that they're not really as different from everyone else as they would otherwise believe.

Sexually we are what we want to be. If we accept that gender does not have to condition sexuality then surely the reverse must apply?

Undoubtedly being exposed to pics/vids of sexual activity you had not seen before can lead people to experiment. The internet has been the driving force behind the explosion in interest in niche areas (pun not intended) of sex because it is easier to disseminate and does not necessarily need a market.

I agree, but elaborate on "niche areas"
