I certainly wasn't disputing the Latin plural... simply pointing out that there are two bona fide English plurals that are quite acceptable according to all standard dictionaries. Believe me, on a site like this, there have been a few heated debates about the 'correct'The Dark Venetian said:-Since latin was the root and Latin and then Italian are both older then English... they are acceptable plural forms in Standard British or American English since the 1931 of the original terms. I think it funny that, such a new language claims in the popular culture to be the root and the older term is consider the "way one says it in such and such"...
Be my luck the one still in the jeans would do the pissing.:biggrin1:The Dark Venetian said:-Hmmm... no nevermind... that is evil... two... nope sometimes just one is good enough...LOL!
- ...going to the bathroom would be very confusing... "Which one has to go!!!.... damit, there goes the wallpaper and carpet again... damn this 50/50 margin of error!"
- ...or "Oh I am so hard!!.. (man) ..."um... no your not!?"... (woman) "Yes I am!!!... it's the other one!" (man) ..."OH!" (woman)
I'll have to remember that the next time I get a hot Italian waiter. The Dark Venetian said:-Pene in Italian is penis, so don't ask for pene thinking it's penne (the pasta)..."I would like some Carpaccio and the lady shall have pene with pomodoro..." (Woman adds) "really big ones!" ....LMAO!!!
